If these allegations are what bring him down, great, but I wish he'd gotten pushed out because of all the lies he told and "sting operations" that really were dress up for rich guys. 

It’s ironic that a company making bad decisions post an apology on a platform owned by a company making bad decisions:  X (formerly Twitter)

Even more worrying is the fact that Unity doesn’t consider Planned Parenthood or Children’s Hospitals to be “valid charities”.

There was no “communications debacle.” Everyone understood perfectly fine what Unity was demanding. The only confusion was on the part of any executive who thought this retroactive change wouldn’t set their entire company on fire.

At this point, Unity is a liability, regardless of what changes they make. They clearly have shareholders’ pocketbooks as their main concern. They will most definitely try to get more money out of devs in the future. Don’t use Unity. It’s not worth the risk.

You know, I think it would be okay if they wanted to give a revenue sharing model option available for someone if they didn’t have the money to pay for a lot of the development licenses. But to charge a fee to use the software AND charge royalties is just such a wild fucking strategy.
