Oooh! That (invitation for the Obamas, and none for the Trumps) cheers me up immensely. /tip hat

I was very lucky to see her in the recent Sunset Boulevard revival; she was magnificent.
Is isn’t - not yet, anyway.
Spill, spill. Pretty please.
Oh! I was actually wondering about that. He was a wonderful Frodo, and, generally, a talented actor and seemingly good human being (a very polite concert goer, too). How awful, and how entirely not surprising.
You’d think the anti-abortion crowd would also advocate for top-of-the-line, universal prenatal care, creches, etc. But nooooo...
Have you thought of calling in ? Radiostations do care, more or less, about what listeners think ... or at least they used to.
Between the Alabama results and Sister Rosetta’s induciton, this week’s starting off pretty well. #cautiouslyoptimistic
But the real question was, how did she know Barbra Streisand was kinky? (Or, for that matter, that your husband wasn’t?) What I’m saying is, just how close a tab did this woman keep on others’ sexual preferences?!
AP has now called the election for Jones. Exhaling loudly over here. [Also, Ellie, can I be ungreyed? Seeing as I was a normal, non-grey commenter back in the Gawker-era Jezebel, originally ungreyed by Jenna.]
10/10 would watch.
Barry Keoghan! He’s mad talented. Which probably means that the Academy will pass him by for years, and ultimately nominate him for something relatively mediocre because it’ll be “his time.”
I do remember; what a travesty that was. I really wish that another award show took the Golden Globes’ lustre, because between HFPA and the Academy, there are so many bad choices so much of the time, but I just can’t quit them (so I end up rage-watching instead, and that’s not healthy). Killing of a Sacred Deer was…
My reaction to (many of) this year’s nominees (and the absentees):
Posted the same thing upthread. What sort of crack do you have to be smoking to nominate the Boss Baby for anything other than a Razzie?!
You don’t even have to go that far back in time: the Boss Baby. The Boss Baby! The mind boggles.
At a minimum, Get Out deserved a best screenplay. It’s brilliant. Did it deserve a directorial nomination? I’d much rather Get Out than the Post, but HFPA members love their award bait.
I love me some Edgar Wright, and car movies, and I fell asleep half-way through Baby Driver, and didn’t feel like re-engaging. Like you, was not even whelmed, despite friends’ chorus of praise.
Starred both for the sentiment and for Mylène’s classic.
Ah, I was just putting together a list of issues on which to call my representatives, plus a list of any year-end donations.
