"You killed 100,000 people? You must get up very early in the morning!"

All of this. Plus, it's the Daily Mail, whose, er, editorial outlook is particularly dodgy.

Tinie Tempah once sang to me! [/brag]

It was GBP5/week, so roughly $1.60/day (or slightly more, I guess, depending on the exchange rate), but even that is doable. I object to the whole idea of fundraisers like that on principle, though. Like, seriously, the only way you can empathise with those suffering from hunger and malnutrition is by eating less

Haiti's today's needs, arguably, are rooted directly in the wrongs of the past - specifically, the enormous reparations France forced Haiti to pay after Haiti gained its independence. Too lazy to Google, but, if memory serves, in today's money it would be equivalent to billions of dollars.

Didn't he (Boris) say that he was going to spend the remaining portion of his mayoral term writing a book on Churchill? How he hasn't been tossed out of office is beyond me, though I assume that there is some procedure that applies in case of dereliction of duty.

Looking like Paris is one thing; London is turning into something considerably worse, in my opinion. The fact that large areas of W1 are completely empty of residents, because all the housing has been bought up by people who don't intend to actually live there is pretty grim.

Ah, that'd be too straightforward. Also, everyone knows poor people cannot articulate their experiences in an adequate fashion. [/quiet rage]

In a mild state of shock that there is only one non-grey Pulp comment. Off to assuage said shock by listening to "My Lighthouse."

That was my food budget for an entire year in college (not, you know, $5/year, but $1/day). Surprisingly, it wasn't for funsies or as part of a UNICEF fundraiser. Ah, #wellmeaningrichpeople...

Thanks for posting! Wanted to see the outfit, did not want to give Daily Fail any pageviews.

But losing his looks appears to have been great for his acting. He was, bar none, the best Hamlet I've seen on stage.

Or you could skip the feuds and look up her released tracks; there's a fair bit besides Liquorice out there.

Why you gotta be like that? [/cry in corner, clutching a stack of Spader's early films on DVD]

Production design was by far the best thing about American Hustle. Congrats to your friend; excellent work.

Her performance was quite good, but she was miscast. Overall, American Hustle falls well, well short of the hype that preceded it, sadly. I really wanted to like it, but, overall, despite an interesting story, some great performances, and excellent, excellent styling, the sum total was mediocre.

Seeing as it's Burning Man, you don't have any stringenst shower requirements, right? May you succeed in your noble quest!

Sweet baby Jesus on drugs! Does he know that what happens on the internet stays on the internet?
