My bestie and I didn't have real weddings either, so one of THE.MOST.FUN things we ever did together was go out to bridal salons and try on gowns together! We made up this story about how we were having a double wedding the following summer. It was a blast and I highly recommend it. :-)

That made me smile. Right on! :-)

I'm so sorry that happened to you and your mom and brother. Know that there are strong advocates for women (and anyone) in the situation you all faced. I hope she has been able to stay safe.

:-) Like I said...one of those things that doesn't seem like a big deal, but it really is in terms of legality and in terms of getting people to really consider the seriousness and impact of this crime.

Although it's a horrible story, I'd like to thank you for using the word "strangled" to describe what happened to Bree Olsen rather than "choked." I work for an agency that assists victims of domestic violence and there's a huge push to get people to stop saying "choked" and start saying "strangled." It may seem

I agree with the comments that these are personal, and not a "smiling group photo" type of scenario.

I'm going to have to go ahead and heart you. Good day, sir.

There's an organization called "Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep" ([www.nowilaymedowntosleep.org]) that will send a volunteer photographer to the hospital or home or wherever to take pictures of a deceased/stillborn/miscarried baby for the parents. The logic is that this is a way to have something to hold on to....a memory

I work in Prevention Education for an agency that assists survivors of both Domestic/Relationship Violence and sexual assault. The stereotype that women are always victims and men are always abusers is a difficult one to get past for many people. Since I work in education, I am constantly trying to make sure I give

BOTH of the other movies have murders!

My boyfriend is a former Scout and he and I have gone rounds because I WILL. NOT. ALLOW. either of our boys to join Boy Scouts. My reasoning has always been their discrimination against gays, which I will not enable via our dues money or participation in any way, shape, or form. He argues that they'd have fun, at

Since we're on Jez and not Gawker, hopefully I can get away with saying "+1" without fear of the dreaded Banhammer. ;-)

HA! I say that all the time and people look at me funny. I thought I was the only one who remembered it!

I just cackled. I had occasion at work today to show my ditzy co-worker a picture of Jo Jo the dog-faced boy. If I wasn't so high right now I'd be able to spell "serendipity."

Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh. Thought I might be able to have my weed-n-half and smoke it too. Or something. With kids about, probably best not to steep weed on the stove anyway. Stupid adult responsiblities!!

SO. If you do something like that, can you then dry the bud back out and smoke it? Or does it take all the buzz-stuff away when you cook it? Inquiring minds and all that.

I'm in the US, and this is exactly what I do for a living. I'm the Education Services Manager for a community agency serving victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. I have programming for ages from day care (puppet shows on accepting differences or being able to tell a trusted adult if someone hurts you)

@Hamsterpants: Is this invite open, or just for Marky-Mark? I don't really need the love so much, but the chronic and Febreze would hit the spot.

@chubmaniac: Jason. That's just how she pronounced it. I really should have capitalized or bolded the "san" part...it was more "Jay-SAN!!" ;-)

My aunt is Chinese (my uncle is caucasian; he met her when he was in the service in Taiwan.) and she was always SO strict with their son. All I remember her saying to him all the time was hissing, "Jay-san!! Jay-san!!!" That, and when he was in kindergarten, the teacher sent a note home asking if she could dress
