Although this witness statement might support the idea that she did commit suicide, it also makes it very clearly that her illegal detention was the motivation for the suicide. So either she didn’t commit suicide or she did it because of the illegal detention.

She had epilepsy and a head injury. I know very little about neuroscience, but I wonder if the trauma could have caused damage to her brain that would have made her suicidal. Even if that was the case, the asshole cop is still absolutely guilty of murdering her.

I also heard on NPR that because she ended up being charged with resisting arrest she was being held all alone in a high-security area, is that right? That can’t be easy, especially when you’re someone who was part of the Black Lives Matter movement and thus has a lot of knowledge about how bad the situation you’re in

Yeah I agree completely. Or at the very least not engaged and accepted that someone somewhere was unhappy that she continues to dominate the pop culture landscape

I agree. After what she went through, and no hope for bail............WTF?

No. There is not even the slightest snowball’s chance in hell a police department could be held liable for her committing suicide due to an unlawful detention.

From just a cursory overview of those documents its clear to me that she was going through a hard time even if she wasn’t clinically depressed, which she very well might have been. There’s a previous suicide attempt and corresponding loss of a pregnancy, as well as a recent death in her family and this career move on

Negligent homicide. I’m sure they’re going to try to use her self-harm scars as “evidence” that she was suicidal, and I hope it blows up in their faces by revealing their negligence. Many, if not most people who self-harm aren’t suicidal, but it does suggest that she was not happy. Someone would have noticed while she

Impossible case to prove. Will go to trial. Will settle for undisclosed sum.

Okay can someone explain this to me? Like, the original tweet doesn’t seem to be directed at Taylor specifically, but it does say “If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies.” Taylor frequently has videos featuring women with very slim bodies, and is also nominated. The only folks who really fit that

Based on the NY Times story, it went like this:

I have read TKAMB at least a dozen times—a number of times during my own education (throughout middle school, high school, and college), and then a number of times during my brief career teaching 8th grade language arts. I’ve never enjoyed the narrative, or the story, or the characters, or really anything about it

You are probably going to get a lot of dumb posts from people (who haven’t spent a day in their life volunteering with homeless pets) about how this was all your fault. And those posts will list all the things you “should” have done.

Not only that but some of the women did come forward but the DA didn’t prosecute, even though he believed the woman. Cosby was just too powerful and that is why one of the woman was forced to take the civil case route. She filed a criminal charge complain but the DA straight up refused to take the case forward. Some

Yeah and he’s an old man. Obama could easily wrassle the medal away from him

The doctor took half a pint of my intimate bodily secretions today. Goddamn vampires.

What about all the the pap tests I’ve had over the years?!! All those vaginal secretions just gone! Left alone in petri dishes! Abandoned!

I have been looking at the reviews and reading the articles, and I have decided that I will not purchase this book. This is hard for me because I typically purchase ALL THE BOOKS. But this is some complete bullshit that I cannot deal with. Poor Harper Lee. Her sister was the only soul who cared for her, and now she is

Because it was Loretta’s story to tell if she chose, not her DIL’s to expose for whatever reason. I don’t think it is okay to expose something so personal without the consent of the person who was raped. No one seems to know whether she actually wanted this information out there. The DIL claims that is the case, but

I have two relatives who live in rural areas with coyotes, other wild animals, and police departments that are quite a long distance away, which, as we know, can mean long 911 response times.
