THIS. The NRA is a disgrace. It sickens me that they are the ones controlling the narrative and the legislation around guns in this country.

This is the system working as the NRA intends. When background checks and gun controls work; gun crimes diminish, people feel safer, and safe people don’t arm themselves against other safe people. To keep people buying guns, they have to keep gun crimes happening and maintain the fear.

The NRA will use this to say background checks are ineffective and don't matter. What should really happen is the background check system needs to be made stronger, and more reliable.

I thought the same thing. The judge must be basing her opinion of the mother on something, I’d like to know why she had such a problem with the mother.

Yea, I’m pretty sick of people who live in the concrete jungle trying to tell me what I need in my forest.

True, but most of the people who we see talk about having guns have a) way more than necessary for property protection, b) types of guns that would not really ever be used on a coyote, and c) rant and rave about how people should always have them always and anyone who gets murdered and didnt have a gun on them in

I’ll let the Army know to take away every soldier’s weapon in Afghanistan. We don’t get two hours a day of practice with them before we deploy, after all.

I am a gun owner and will continue to be so once I have children. I do not, however, intend to carry one on me or let them have access to the safe. We have goats and live in a heavily wooded area with coyotes. The rifle and shotgun are for predators of varying sizes, not humans. Actually carrying one simultaneous with

I love r/fantasy and r/dragonage. I spend way too much time there.

Also, there are a lot of local news subreddits, too, which are great for local news and goings on.

She has created a cartoon character

Ya, I normally do have sympathy for celebrities in that regard because I know the media likes to twist things. But in this case, she’s portraying herself on a reality show. And I know she has enough creative control at this point to dictate who her “character” is going to be.

Agreed. It’s really hard to empathize with such a boo-hoo claim. For me, “I believe that I’m so much smarter than I’m portrayed” translates into “I’m so much smarter than I (willingly choose to) portray myself. There’s a huge difference and it’s pretty nervy to try to frame herself as somehow underestimated,

Thanks. The slate article was informative. I am no psychologist, but I do think she has some pathological lying / compulsive lying disorder. She might be paranoid at some level too, possibly from having a traumatic event happen, but nonetheless paranoid. Also maybe she was abused. I haven’t read about that, but the

(though as a jersey girl, i can understand you defending your particular state)

Right??? Why the need to call her a Montana-American? Clearly the author of this piece has disdain for Montanans.

to his credit, George Jason Alexander posted this on twitter

I once was one of those nannies.... those women are horrific, husbands worse, and their kids? growing up to be totally horrific douchebags. If anything the nannies teach the kids a little bit about how the real world works.

Excellent point. My first thought was “hell yeah, that shit’s hard work.” But you remind me that they aren’t doing it without any domestic/childcare help like most (?) of the rest of us. I feel less guilty about MY ass more likely absorbing a quarter in its squishiness, since it takes a miracle to make it to the gym.

A good majority do have nannies or at least a Au Pair. So they have more time to go to the gym and hang out with other SAHMs. This is where real housewives finds it’s casting.
