There are all sorts of reasons you can get out of the draft, and that would likely be one. I have a hard time believing that both you and your husband could be drafted if you have children.

Yeah, that logic doesn’t really work though if you break it down to the level of soldiers. Women want to be soldiers in the combat zone. They want equality when they are soldiers in the military. You can’t say “I’m not agreeing to equality in one area until every single area ever is equal.” There’s not going to be any

As a woman, it is hard to argue for equality without agreeing that women should have to register. So bring it on. Give us the same rights and requirements as men.

Ditto.

Yeah, that makes sense. I don’t think it can be Gillibrand, though. As much as I would love to see a female only ticket, I don’t think Hillary will take that chance.

Makes sense. Any guesses on who it might be?

Really? He doesn’t add the whole element of “I’m uncomfortable voting for a woman, but I like the mans man that is O’Malley?”

I think there’s a chance we’ll see him again. Potentially as Hillary’s running mate. So this might just be a “farewell for now.”

The only law school in Montana is in Missoula. I did not go there for law school, but people who do get enamored with the town and want so bad to stay that they’re willing to accept a ridiculously low amount. Last year, some of the law students told me that one of the firms in Missoula was starting associates at

I am going for vacations.

Ok, so it’s $18k a year. I live in an area where it is not uncommon for someone to make $35k a year with a degree. Hell, there’s a law firm around here that actually starts lawyers out at $35k a year, which is horrible. In any case, that is still half of the salary of someone in my area for one kid in daycare. And, of

Yuck.

Yeah, it used to be that you could have a couple kids and survive on one parent’s income without a problem. Those days are clearly gone. Which means that more women are likely going to come back to work after having kids, but if the price of kids in that area is too high, I can totally see it not making sense. I mean,

That just sounds awful. Meanwhile, we spend how many billions of dollars as a country on our military every year. You think maybe we could divert some of that money to private schools so kids can have some basic educational material.

Yeah, I don’t have kids either. And I had no idea how expensive daycare was.

Yeah, that’s what other people are telling me as well. Crazy.

That is unbelievable. I mean, to spend close to a million dollars just to get your kids through high school sound ridiculous. So tell me, is it necessary to send them to private school? Are the L.A. public schools bad?

Yeah, I’m not having children. For a whole host or reason, obviously. But now I realize even more how much money it will save me.

And...that’s awful. Kids are expensive.

I know exactly how you can avoid this sort of crazy. Don’t send your kids to a preschool that costs more than the average salary in the United States. Just a thought.
