my father in law is a large man and he either buys first class for the extra room or buys 2 seats.

hahahahahaha, quality amenities offered at that rest stop

I’ve been saying this for years about modern pickups. Slap a hard tonneau cover on there and you literally have a traditional 3 box sedan with a giant trunk and an elevated ride height.

If those rest stops truly are in the middle of no where, it’s a huge opportunity to throw a monster solar farm right next to the highway in what is most likely unoccupied space. Here in Michigan there are a few solar farms along the side of the highways, and they aren’t hooked to chargers, just a solar field owned by

lol, to join you - the same thing that happens in my GMC Yukon if I catch a semi going 100 mph with my driver door - I’m squished.

I imagine the insane high powered chargers are more likely to be at big rest stops on highways/toll highways, especially in the middle of nowhere. I’m thankfully not in PG&E but the grid is the number 1 thing they should be concerned about with the push towards EV’s.

if it makes you feel better, it also ends in a 10 increment, so still symmetrical - all good.

the fast charge, if you can get up to an 800w charger is pretty insane these days. under 20 minutes for 80% charge is getting damn close to being as efficient as a gas tank fill.

jesus the “space force” can’t even take it’s own self serious - how are we supposed to?

Does it still have drum brakes?

See, I knew there would be a solid solution other than “tough shit go get another one”

Yeah but the pre-filled tank for the BBQ doesn’t leave me stranded too far away from another swap station...it just means the burgers got cold.

you never plan for it, but sometimes things backfire

One HUGE benefit I see to battery swaps that I don’t see a lot of people talk about is that they can trickle charge the stored batteries instead of going full blast with an insane quick charge. It’s better for the batteries longevity to charge slowly.

Can’t wait to see them blocking off entire charging stations with a camper behind them and everyone getting all mad while they yell “Sorry! The designer of the charging station didn’t thing an EV would need 40 feet of length at one of these!” I’ve been saying this one for years, if they expect towing they better be

When my daughter is old enough for these “concerns” I would definitely be kicking that principals ass. What if she wasn’t wearing anything under the zip up? Is it against the school code to just wear a sweatshirt? You can’t demand students take articles of clothing off WTF

pain in the ass while cleaning snow off the windshield on that side lol

I find it hysterical that it’s legal to swap on massive iron bumpers to trucks and Wranglers (and I’m sure soon the Bronco) but they are producing golf’s with cushioned engine covers....

Alright, that’s a point, I have not. But they know damn well they could get fired over it.

It’s brought up a shocking amount, mainly no one actually knows anything about NJ so that fact sticks out a bit.
