I thought the same, but then I have played Ark and it clicked. Somehow the raw experience of being very vulnerable was sufficient to generate the adrenaline rush, which few games are capable of by now. I still remember the dread with which I have slowly crawled toward my poor body holding a load of invaluable

Am I the only one who wants a full Detective Peach game? I could totally see her investigating various crimes around the Mushroom Kingdom. Could even do a crossover with True Detective. Call it True Detective: Kingdom.

Interestingly, both of those games were made by Ambrella, which was a third party developer that made Pokemon spin-offs. Creatures (one of the 3 owners of Pokemon, along with GameFreak and Nintendo) bought Ambrella a couple of years ago. Creatures manages the TCG and merchandise (which is where the real money is), but

I owned a multitap adapter. But tbf I also was aware of the multiplayer adapter for the original Nintendo Entertainment System and owned one of those adapters as well. Also there were Multiplayer games that went beyond two players even back on the original Nintendo Entertainment System.

I often wonder if Secret of Mana is actually a good game, or if people are just replacing their memories of the game with what the box art conjured in your mind at 6 years old in the SNES aisle of Toys R Us.

I’m fine with it. Glad they're branching out from now Sonic, Like A Dragon, and Persona.

I dont even have to guess. Based on the trailer its a single player game.

It will probably be gorgeous to look at but as someone who has played them for years with my gaming friends it just makes me so sad.

Hey maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised but it seems pretty set in stone.

This was honestly the highlight of the evening for me. :D

‘” And even weirder saying Secret of Mana is a game you play with “two AI companions” and completely ignoring the best part of the game: three-player local co-op.”’

‘” The series began as Final Fantasy Adventure on the Game Boy in 1991 before getting its own title and a breakout hit on SNES called Secret of Mana. The top-down action-adventure was like The Legend of Zelda with an RPG twist, including a leveling system, weapon combos, and a varied magic system. Instead of traveling

It’s about time for some of these for sure.

If they release them all at once in a bundle they could revive something cool

if i can be just a little honest here: the missing block quote was actually my fault. the kinja had it previously, but the cms decided not to keep it when i published the post after checks and edits. (gotta love kinja, right?) that said i appreciate y’all not dragging me for this. as you’ve noted, g/o media’s been

Yeah the way they even categorize some games makes me cringe. I think Lies Of P was in RPG? That’s a great game but I’d never call it a RPG. Good article especially bringing up Hogwarts Legacy I didn’t catch that either. Sure it wasn’t hugely complex but it was a game I played to completion in one go which is rare

Holocure as indie game.

Game Awards have all sorts of problems, but they most unfortunately suffer from the “If it’s not in GOTY contention (or at least sniffing it), it will be overlooked in technical categories.” Academy Awards have this problem big time, where an overlooked or even bad movie cannot win for something like costume design,

I will say it again, no indie games in the accessibility category is a crime. Indie games have been making huge and innovative steps to provide accessibility to their games for many groups that are often left on the sidelines by the mainstream markets. Between modes for the blind, colorblind, people prone to seizures

Now that it’s been brought up, yeah, Street Fighter 6 WAS kind of snubbed: a game that managed to make fighting games more accessible to the public in a solid way kinda deserves at least a nod.

That’s an awful lot of “well akshually...” regarding Hogwart’s considering a remake was nominated for GOTY...  The game awards represents the media’s narrative, not the fandom.

How the hell Hogwarts Legacy isnt anywhere on there is NUTS.
