When I started my first management job, my dad told me to keep a work diary and it was so helpful. It made self evaluations much easier, as well resume updates. It has also been very helpful just to go back and see my growth, and be able to put things in perspective more- it’s a record of what worked and what didn’t.

That may be the case, but in this study the doulas were randomly assigned, and since many women do desire pain medication while in labor, that is one conclusion. A doula might convince someone that she doesn’t need medication even though she wants it in this case.

I also found it striking that the women who were randomly assigned a doula had less epidurals. It seems like doulas could be talking women out of pain relief, which is grossly unethical if true.

I am in no way excusing this behavior. Any kids who did this need to be punished and made to understand how serious this is, and how terrible the consequences of their actions have been. I’m just not so arrogant as to say this never could have been me.

Nobody said they should be excused. We all did absolutely horrible things as kids, and most of us are lucky that things turned out ok anyway. If circumstances had been just the tiniest bit different, who's to say what we would or would not have done.

If something has a 20% chance of going wrong, that is not safe. Imagine if every time you got in a car you ran a 20% chance of getting into an accident. Sometimes it works out, and when it does it’s because the person was lucky and nothing more.

This person needs to get themselves some silk base layers, including sock liners and fingerless gloves. Follow that up with wool leggings and wool long sleeve tee, then wool pants and wool sweater. Blanket scarves and lightweight down jackets are good top layers.
