Supplies are tight all up and down the fast food industry, thanks to production and distribution being short of people. Now that football season is here, chicken wings are especially tight (they come only from chickens of a very specific age, so its not like restaurants can simply order more and get them instantly.).

Local Taco Bells here in Dallas are having a very tough time re-staffing the breakfast shift: most of them closed for breakfast during COVID.

“Time to make the donuts...

To be fair, it wasn’t a mistake.

Lots of white, over-privileged assholes in Texas, and unfortunately, many of them run the government right now. Fortunately, it’s not a universal problem, and it’s actually getting better than it was, just not fast enough. Yet.

Take away his license until 21 and mandate he ride a bicycle for school and/or work for the next four years.

Yet another case of someone who probably kept convincing themself they weren’t sick until they were truly incapacitated, were only tested for COVID when they were admitted to the hospital, already on death’s door - long after most successful treatments should have been initiated, and only hours before they would expire

Not surprised Exorcist got on the list, but I’m surprised you simplified it down to just Father Merrin’s screen performance - the religious tensions and differences between Merrin/Karras (Karras was a Jesuit, Merrin’s order was never declared, but he was based upon a real-life Jesuit) and the traditional Catholic

Abbott also pushed through a law that forces any pro sports team that receives ANY money from the government to play the National Anthem at all events.

Yeah, as I recall, Grimace worked hand in hand with Hamburglar, stealing food and being pursued by Mayor McCheese and Officer Big Mac. In fact, many of McDonalds original characters were criminals. Captain Crook stole filet-o-fish, Grimace stole shakes, Hamburglar stole burgers, and the Fry Guys were originally called

That law was just ruled unconstitutional jackass. Give ‘em the fucking money.

The Republicans will find them next election.  They won’t be available for interviews.

I’m amazed that so many sites have reported this, yet nobody seems to know about the Salem Trade School who pulled a very similar scam back in the 1920s.

Anything Jones does is for the benefit of Jones”

If you’re including Chili’s, I would look at B.J.’s Southern Comfort Chicken Sandwich - or does adding ham, bacon and alfredo disqualify it? Regardless, it remains my favorite chicken sandwich. Too bad Arby’s doesn’t serve their Chicken Cordon Bleu any more.

Lots of rackets in publishing. When a College instructor writes a book, it’s common for friends teaching at other schools to assign the book as required reading in their courses, which - if the circle of friends is large enough - can guarantee a minimum pre-order for the publisher each recurring semester, possibly

Gov. Abbott has also introduced a new bill to ram through, providing $1.77 Billion to put National Guardsmen on the Rio Grande, and to continue building Trump’s wall... as if we don’t have far better ways to spend $1.77 billion.

Yes I was. I have corrected that in the second post.

I’m sorry, I confused Dan Patrick with Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (an Abbott ally, though they don’t seem to like each other very much), who has been using his office to delay his trial since 2020:

Patrick has several felony trials lined up against him that he has so far avoided by. being in office. He’s spending millions of Texas tax dollars trying to move them to his home county in order to get a more favorable jury.  Abbott is evil, but Patrick is vile.
