I’ve been unable to get past page 160 of the first book. People keep telling me “it really gets good after page 400, keep going!” but it’s been such a slog. Tell me, does it really get better after page 400? Is it worth slogging through another 240 pages for the “good stuff” to start happening?

I’m a former Oklahoma resident. Pretty much everyone you meet in that state claims to be 1/28th Native American (usually Cherokee). I’ve met tribal members who were 1/64th and had nothing to do with the tribe but were happy to reap any benefits due to them (e.g. free medical care). It was pretty disgusting.

The Snowman isn’t my favorite Harry Hole book but it’s probably the easiest to translate into a stand-alone film. Sorry to hear that they botched it.
