It’s us going backwards. I sat through the pledge throughout high school because I opposed the recital of anything “under god” in a public school. I was in the middle of the Bible Belt and as far as I know there was only one family that had a problem with it. But that bitch had a problem with literally everything I

First off: India, you fucking rock, and fuck anybody who says otherwise. You’re braver than most people twice your age.

As someone who’s in marketing, I echo your statement.

It looks like they thought they could do the end of the Michael Jackson “Black or White” video without the technology or budget.

Not to mention that given the amount of people involved in a campaign like this, you’d also have to assume that not a single person of colour could have been included because this simply would not have been made if there were.

I worked in advertising (I no longer do because it’s evil and adds nothing of value to the world but I digress), and an ad like that by a huge company like Dove (or the parent company Unilever) goes through a LOT of people. This was not a handful of tone deaf idiots, this was a lot of tone deaf idiots. Baffles the

I went to middle school in Houston, Texas. We have 2 pledges, The pledge of allegiance and the Texas Pledge. I can tell you that doing 2 every single day, close to the end of the year most kids didn’t stand and the teachers were fine with. Never reprimanded any students for it. I can’t say it’s the same situation

India is fucking awesome and braver than I would’ve been at her age. The fact that they tried to expel herfor sitting is the whole reason she’s sitting.

These people have been wanting call these babies the nword for so long they can’t contain it anymore. She was arrested for being black , doubt anyone noticed nonblack students sitting for the pledge.

My Guy is from Wheaton, and in our decades together I have never gone up there. Went to Mount Prospect once. Miles and miles of concrete and Big Box stores. I was at a long conference in the City for a week during a snowstorm 12 years ago, and met one of my favorite Virginia Woolf critics. He’s openly gay and told me

I have lived in many places, but this has to be the worst. I have considered Chicago, but by Chicago I mean The Burbs, and that can’t be much better.

Thank you! People in the comments section seem to be missing the point: A woman could be right in believing that neither she nor her fetus needs a cesarean to survive. Or she could be totally, tragically wrong. Some women are idiots. I’m sure that it is infuriating to doctors when their patients are self destructively

I am pro-choice, but this is a terrible argument. First, a fetus is not a trespasser in your body but an invitee (or at least a licensee) — legally and morally, more is owed to an invitee than a trespasser. Second, removing an at-risk fetus/baby via surgery is not in any way analogous to harvesting organs.

I know that when I was in labor, I had sort of tunnel vision—it was hard to focus on anything except the next contraction, and after a while, especially if they won’t let you eat, you have low blood sugar and you’re dehydrated and it hurts and you’re exhausted and you can’t get comfortable. I am sure I missed 50% of

The length of labor doesn’t really matter - it’s whether there’s fetal distress. The lawsuit claims that the patient wasn’t told that she needed a c-section because of danger to the baby, but rather because of the doctor’s timeline.

I think it’s notable that even the medical chart didn’t document any clear distress:

Bring back disemvoweling!

Oh, I do think I get it now. You’re just an asshole. Clears things up.

I got your point. It’s just a dumb one. So some one likes or believes in something you don’t. That makes them less then you? It’s obnoxious when people do that with religion but fucking story genres? God that’s stupid.

And I don’t think ghost are

Dude, that’s a demon coming after you through dreams. Wish I was kidding. The hollow eyes and the extremely lucid descriptions are part of the (excuse my pun) dead giveaway.

I used to have these, it was the corpse of a woman in an orchard though. I would be doing something normal going to the store, driving, whatever and I would end up in the orchard. She would be a little different each time sometimes just laying in the leaves other times bound spread eagle in the trees she would always

The most haunted house in Annapolis has a bricked up room in the basement of a huge 5 part Georgian. Back in the day, there were weird laws around murder, like if someone starved to death you didn’t actually kill them. Anyways, when a team from the University of Maryland discovered the room, they found the remains of
