L Batard is talented, smart, and treats sports with the proper reverence which is next to none.  He and many of the sub 40 folks on ESPN have a voice worth listening to.

LeBatard is odd because when it is stupid, it is hilariously stupid. However, when Dan wants it to be profound, it is that as well. It’s paradoxically both the dumbest and smartest sports radio show in America. It’s also the only self aware one.

I absolutely love Le Batard, because he gets it. His show with Stugotz is stupid, irreverant, and not at all serious. Just like Sports. They understand that none of this stuff actually matters, and they give sports news all of the respect that it has earned, which is to say none at all. Instead they have fun, because

LeBatard is one of the most consistent, entertaining voices at ESPN. Suspending him would only confirm and reinforce everything he said.

Iiiiiiiin south Philadelphia with my mom
Up the first-base line was where I had my glove on
Chillin’ out maxin’ relaxin’ in my seat
And a foul ball comes shootin’ outside of my reach
When the only other kid who gave the slightest shit
Started out first and beat me to it
He got one little hug when he handed me the ball

I once accidentally red carded a kid in a youth soccer game. Grabbed the wrong card and knew my mistake as soon as I saw his eyes light up. I said my bad showed everyone the right card and we had a laugh. MLB umpires (Jim Joyce possibly excluded) have never once made a mistake so this couldn’t happen.

Turner was happy to take a base, and I doubt he expected to change the ump’s mind. There’s nothing wrong with him throwing in his two cents in support of what he saw as an honest mistake.

Probably not the smartest move, but honestly, I’d like to see more acts of good sportsmanship like it.  Argue away Turner!

Is there any nice homes on the market on your area? Does Canada accept American refugees?

We were planning a trip to Chicago on labour day weekend. Fuck that. We’re gonna stay north of the border and spend our money here instead. America is a sad and horrifying place these days.

Help me understand how your anecdotal experience negates my own...

“What is it about driving that makes people completely incapable of rational thought related to people choosing to locomote differently than themselves.”

Pot, Kettle, What?

I drive to work every day, and walk to lunch every day. And I walk to various

I mean that’s obviously inhumane, but most cattle and steers don’t even get a chance to gore or trample anyone before they become hamburger.

(Anybody who replies to this with that Ron Burgundy “that escalated quickly” meme will be shot through my bathroom door.)

I tried a similar move over one of those big concrete Kit Kat bar-shaped things in front of my parking spot. It didn’t go well. I had to have both legs amputated just below the knee. Then I murdered my girlfriend through a bathroom door in South Africa.

It’s just as bleak as being a Dolphin these days.

Well excuse me! I just like to be comfortable while I sleep for 8 hours.
