Even in college, you are allowed to launch at a ballcarrier. How else would you suggest some stop a 235 lb. man running at them full sprint? Jump on his back? Put yourself in front of him and hope he trips?

No, I will give you maybe 4 yards until he begins his slide, but with he and Kiko closing on each other, the slide wouldn’t be recognizable until 3 yads apart at the furthest and afee Kiko had launched to make the tackle.

I think you have a decent point that Altuve deserves more attention, but just look at Hurricanedj’s reply to see that you suggestion that Altuve beat him in every category except Ks is an outright lie.

Judge is a 6'7" genuinely nice guy with who has had arguably the 2nd best rookie season ever. He deserves attention.

Judge’s WAR is 8.1 Altuve’s is 8.3. It is not insane.

That is not my point. They way he plays is certainly prone to slumps, and you deal with them because when he is on he delivers in a way Tony Gwynn just couldn’t.

Ok, so Gwynn didn’t strike out, but what does that get you? In 1995, he also only had about half the extra base hits that Judge did this year (44 to 79) and had a lower on-base-percentage(.404 to .422)  because he only walked 35 times that year.
