The hound carved those two shovels out of one larger shovel.
I guess Stannis abandoned it. No staff, no garrison. He was all-in on his Fire Lord crusade.
I see no evidence those ships weren't constructed of cunningly carved stone.
"It's a good thing we stockpiled these million cords of seasoned wood."
No, Stannis came in and took that whole area from the Wildlings, so presumably all the dead from that battle were burned there.
That was Wun Wun, who escaped Hardhome, joined them at Castle Black, and eventually died taking back Winterfell. The three giant wights in the opener are presumably some other giants.

It was a tight 5 minutes.
I don't know who that is, so the cameo did not take me out of the scene like some people had said. I was just holding my breath the whole time to see whether or not she'd just drop these guys on principle.
Autopsy Maester basically gave Sam the White Walker version of the "don't worry about climate change" talking points. 1) It's probably happening, 2) it has happened before, 3) but it wasn't the end of the world then so it won't be the end of the world this time. He's like the climate change skeptic that says "god…
