I think one issue with modern Sonic games is that they can't capture the sense of speed like Sonic 1-3.  Something about the way the old games used parallax scrolling, animation frames, etc, made it look and feel fast

Bring back remasters or sequels for ENIX games like Actraiser, Soul Blazer, Terranigma, 7th saga, etc. After its merger with Square, all they did was keep the Dragon Quest games.

Emulation has at least made it easy to continue playing games from the 80s and 90s, as there are a ton of rom and ISO dumps.  But games from the 2000s are a lot harder to find, and I suspect that’ll be the case for games in the 2010s and 2020s due to their larger size and difficulty hosting them

is FFV really that forgettable? 5 ranked pretty highly in Japan among FF rankings, even higher than 4.  for Japan, their top FF games tend to be 7, 10, 5, 9, 4

one not mentioned that I thought was really cool was the Sega CDX, which was a genesis sega-cd combo.  really compact and sleek for the time.  I also like the Japanese Turbo-Duo R

For me its the Gamecube and the Dreamcast.  It was awesome how they had four controller ports and were tiny and portable!   I wish todays consoles also followed similar aesthetics, but instead are now super huge.  Except the Switch, but I consider that more like a portable console that hooks up to the TV

Zelda II was awesome possum. Back then there was only the first game to compare to, and Zelda II was a huge jump in combat depth. You now had jumping, up and down stab, various magic, etc. Bosses were huge, Puzzle elements was as good as the first, but that was about it.  Challenge isnt as hard as people made it out

im surprised you didnt review Merge Mansion

I wonder if there was no 32X, if the Saturn could have achieved the same or surpassed the N64 sales in the US. In Japan at least, it was either 2nd to the PS1 or tied with the N64.

did Konami have any involvement? i was wondering when they lost their license for TMNT games

there already is a good Mario movie and it stars Ron Jeremy

Totally agree

Remember when Guile used to look like this?

damn Capcom.. why you do my boy Ken dirty like that.. first Sean then Cody. And when will we see Haggar in a mainline SF game. just bring him already.

have you tried Dark Savior for the Sega Saturn?

on the subject of zelda like games.. I would love to see a remake or a sequel to Crusader of Centy / Ragnacenty / Soleil from the Genesis/MD era

if only James Avery could return to do Uncle Shredder’s voice

I wish it was still easy to find here in Japan.  the series S no problem but the X is as rare as the PS5, perhaps rarer since not as many places hold lotteries for them.

right! PC gaming has caught up here and Apex Legends is really big.  So the Japanese mindset towards Western games has changed considerably.  Its perhaps reaching the point to how Japanese view Hollywood movies, in which they accept it as being more exciting and innovative compared to Japan’s film industry. Basically

As some one in Japan.. while the in the past generations Japanese generally preferred Sony and Nintendo’s offering, its beginning to change with this current generation. There’s a perception here that Sony is no longer a Japanese company, with all the games being released in the US first, and the PS5 being more
