Actually no. Congress does not draft regulations. Congress drafts laws, which in turn are used by regulatory bodies such as the SEC, FCC, etc. to create a regulatory framework that companies have to abide by, or else face fines, penalties, etc. for non-compliance. Read more

Except she’s not a politician anymore. She holds no elected or appointed office that I’m aware of. She has as much relevance to American politics right now as any of us do, which is to say absolutely none. Read more

The pain will only get worse the longer we wait. While the courts may be correct in this case, the fact that we’ve kicked the can down the road for, by my estimate, at least forty years, will be the death of us all. Read more

This is half the reason people own cats. They are adorable, and will eat your face if you die. Hell, some of them try and eat your face when you’re alive.

Since this appears to be the “I bought a plasma TV a decade ago and TVs now are just catching up to how good it still looks” thread, I’ll throw in my two cents. Read more

I was doing research on the different proposals for Medicare For All, among other issues, a few weeks ago. I pulled up Bernie and Warren’s respective websites to compare their approaches. Bernie’s was about two paragraphs, without even so much as a link to the bill he wrote, or an executive summary that I could easily Read more

On one hand, a steak covered in gold is an insult to steak, and I can only assume that it’s presented like this to trick morons into thinking they’re getting a premium piece of meat when any meat-respecting chef would insist on serving a steak on a plate, sizzling, with maybe a sprig of parsley, because that’s all the Read more

I fully expect Feige handed Burke a subscription to Disney+ and told her to get bent. The Disney+ stuff is $25m an episode, compared to $3m on broadcast. Why would he compromise his vision for broadcast?

Since we have some folks extolling the benefits of a laser printer, I could use some buying advice. I’d like a multi-function device (scan and color), and image quality is important as I’ll be printing waterslide decals with it. Anyone have any recommendations?

Misogyny. I’m on the Team Liz train, and I really don’t get why people fawn over Bernie. Pete has shown himself to be Biden in a skin suit, and Biden is a dinosaur that has managed to outrun the meteor.

My issue with smart locks is that they haven’t fit my use case, so here goes. I travel frequently for work (50+ nights a year) and have a cat sitting service come to my condo to check on my furball while I’m away. Hanlon’s Razor explains everything about Trump. He is a small and stupid man that does things for small and stupid reasons. Thinking that he’s playing ten-dimensional chess is giving him more credit than he’s due.
