Here’s the thing: if Trump had said nothing, the exact same thing would have happened. This is why US Presidents don’t waste their time or credibility with nonsense like this because there’s ultimately very little they can do. It makes the office look small.
My grandfather has a joke. You know the famous poem, “First they came for the communists...”, yadda yadda yadda, “And when they came for me there was no one left to speak”? He says they should really redo that last line to say “And then they came for the Jews, because they ALWAYS come for the Jews.”
Seriously, the Second Amendment is not that long. It’s like one sentence. You guys love to quote like, five words of it, but why not actually write the full thing?
I don’t buy that reasoning, because I think it feeds into this milquetoast centrist ideal of “If we only put forth moderate, likely to pass plans, surely this time the GOP will come to their senses”.
I bought a Casper Wave about a year ago after ten years on a so-so spring mattress, eventually upgraded with a memory foam topper.
Yeah, but 250ft robots with rocket punches and swords.
Oh, wrong answer, Beto.
I think UBI will be the next earned benefit once AI starts making a serious dent in employment rates. However, I also think that A) Andrew Yang isn’t the right guy to implement it, and B) he’s about ten years too early.
It would not surprise me at all if we’re in a recession in the next six to twelve months. Once people start losing their jobs and Trump is entirely unable to arrest the decline, it’s entirely possible we could end up in a worse position than we were in 2008. If that’s the case, the GOP could very well lose the Senate…
Penny wise and pound foolish. Israel is banking on Trump getting reelected and the GOP maintaining a hold on power. Note that this is the opposite of the position the majority of the American Jewry takes, which has been consistently Democratic for basically ever. They’re aligning themselves with a cabal of right-wing…
This is because daddy didn’t love me enough, and this is because I have a tiny one.
Adult here. I grew up on Transformers, TTM was a seminal moment in my childhood, this thing is really cool, and I have the money.
Too old. Franchises to to folks in their 20s and 30s, unless you’re RDJ - Hounsou is over 50. He’s very firmly in that supporting character/character actor zone where he can work across franchises, bring a little gravitas to the role, and generally make a good living until he retires.
I think a less divisive candidate could have kept Michigan and Wisconsin red. Trump is unique in the sense that he opens opportunities politically that aren’t available to other Republican candidates, while at the same time having virtually no coattails for them to ride on.
So right now we’re starting to see a shift in a lot of states that could redo the electoral map. Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina are all trending blue. Texas is heading that direction as well. At the same time, the industrial midwest is trending red.
I would put more money on Texas becoming semi-permanently blue before Florida, which has been trending red since 2000. Too many retirees, not enough business.
Chicago doesn’t just “help” Illinois - it is Illinois. Reduce Chicago to the size of, say, Indianapolis, and Illinois becomes indistinguishable from the rest of the midwest.
Even with guns like Erentil and Jotunn, good players still beat bad players pretty regularly. Sure, you can get by with gimmick loadouts in Quickplay or Rumble, but that’s where you should be using gimmick loadouts.
To complete the analogy, that person is also dead and survived only by the grift he created.
1) If you actually have any liberal friends, they’re probably sick of your shit.
