Speaking of tweets

Donald’s REPEAL/RREPLACE tweet is patently absurd. That’s not how healthcare works, dummy. It’s like a doctor saying I’m going to do open heart surgery now, but I’ll sew you up in a couple of months.

Apparently it’s not unheard of for black kids to get names like mister, lawyer, and the like. I guess it’s a way for it to sound like they’re getting respect, even though they aren’t getting that respect from society.

Sir is also a word of respect that many people refuse to use for a black man. I can see the idea of naming a black male.

You make it sound like 35 is ancient... You body is not much different from your 20's.

As a lover of big and interesting earrings, I need to start paying closer attention to what she wears so I can replicate them.

I mean, typing “insecure” into Google gets results with the homepage for this show right there at the top... but also the big honkin’ HBO logo at the very start of the trailer displayed at the top of the page should have been a big clue.

Oh my god, no, not at all. For one thing, Issa and Molly’s friendship is actually a friendship, not a relationship of convenience and oneupsmanship. They have their disagreements but there’s real love there. But that’s just one example. How on earth did you get the impression that it’s a Girls sort of show?

I love it for a million reasons, but one is that I lived in LA from birth to 32, and this is the first show I’ve ever seen that is about how most people in LA actually live.

I did like Girls, and I don’t think Insecure is like Girls.

I think (?) they’re supposed to be older than the Girls? At least, they are way more mature and grounded, with their shit together, mostly.

A friend commented to me that this was the first time she’d seen black millennial characters on TV in settings that weren’t cliche or sensational. She had joked before the show came out that she wanted to see someone microwaving a frozen burrito while black.

I clicked on this article for the sole purpose of finding out where to watch this show and I was disappointed.

I love this show. Also, let’s have a fashion hunt to find the earrings Issa is wearing when she’s talking about her ho phase. Because I want them.

Seriously SO PUMPED for this!! Insecure was squarely in the top 5 list of shit I watched last year, I try to force everyone to watch it the second I find out they have access to HBO.
