Congrats on the sobriety and on your mom’s awesome humor about your past. Nothing helps ease those rough patches like people who make you laugh :)

That really sucks. I assumed some may have been family, hence the unavoidable nature of the situation. But, the friends of friends would probably give me enough pause after a while to just say “eff it”. However, I can see how everyone doesn’t get to that point (or it takes longer). Hope it goes as well as it can this

Not to be that person...but if these are your “friends” you might need a new group to chill with.

That whole interview gave me major douchebag vibes. Like...major.

A large part of their population speaks German still and Dutch as well. As much as the Amish aren’t a large group elsewhere, they are pretty deep in PA. I’m not sure that any law would apply to them and I’m pretty sure they don’t vote anyway so...

As a neighbor to Pennsylvania, I can assure you it’s not intentional. Lol.

Yes, they try the scare tactics with higher paid gov’t workers as well. My mom worked for the federal gov’t when the 2013 shut down happened and while she wasn’t out long, her retro pay didn’t come back in for a minute (maybe like 2-3 months after the fact). For her it was not a big deal, but I imagine for many others

I’m sorry that happened to you. I have sworn off American made cars after the ignition switch situation with GM and Saturn. Never again.

    This comment is everything!

Damn. I’m sorry to hear that and sorry for your loss. I remember all the craziness in the media over it and I remembered it really angered me back then.

This is exactly how I read this.

Also, Ford and Firestone. They let those tires be put onto Explorers back in the late 90s, early 2000s KNOWING they separated and could cause serious damage. Not sure if anyone died from those accidents (probably but can’t say 100%) but I know many were injured. Not sure why no one was held personally accountable

This comment legitimately made me laugh. Thank you!

There’s this rumor that he did this in Canadian club a few months back and someone from a fake “fetty wap” account tweeted it. That’s why I take it with a grain of salt. Still can’t stand him though.

From what I hear stance on “blackness” is...troubling as fuck! That is just the cherry on top if it’s true. I don’t know if it’s true that he won’t go into a venue (like a club, not concert) unless and until the staff removes all black women but if so, that shit is majorly ridiculous.

This may not be popular to say but here goes...I absolutely HATE the Weeknd’s music. ALL OF IT. His voice is awful, his music is genuinely stupid to me and his look angers me. I have no idea why I dislike him so much but man...I can’t wait for his “run” to be over. Any list with his songs on it are automatic ‘no’s”

Clearly you didn’t read what I wrote so I’ll kindly stop talking to you. Mr./Mrs. Whatever-your-name-is.

This is very true. While what has been said about rape victims is horrible, they don’t have the kind of women-power to get shit done on this level; especially since the population at large lives under the guise of rape culture and they don’t even know it.

Nope.. I’m not. Because I’m a decent human being, I tell folks that I was raised a certain way and calling someone who is my elder by their first name-only feels strange. If they insist, I’ll do it. So save your faux outrage for another situation because I’m good over here.

This is what I was taught and, as outdated as it seems, this is what I will teach my kids.
