I have a ‘15 Tundra that I’m happy to sit on until something like this finally hits the market and is proven to not be complete shite. It sure as shit won’t be 2020, but that’s OK, I can wait.

I never understood why people disliked the segment that represented the best value in most car makers lineups. Mid-sized sedan were never a blast, but CUV’s are far worse.

Hahaha, OK. they aren’t available to even order yet, much less has 2019 model availability been established yet. I’m sure they’ll get some takers diverted from buying Wranglers for the first year or two. However, no, dealers aren’t looking at pages and pages of anything yet. It was just announced a few days ago.

It could have def had more room, but was driveable. The Tundra was a much better fit. And yeah, found the longer tracks to be a very common modification, but almost never executed well from what I saw. At the end of the day, I wanted to put my own trip to the moon worth of miles on the car I was buying, not dealing

Compromised as a rock crawler because of increased length and compromised as a truck because of a super-tiny bed. Good, I guess, if you need to get 4 bags of mulch somewhere.

I had a weird all-of-a-sudden FJ80 want a few years back. Somehow ended up with a Tundra at the end of all of it, but had pretty much only driven smaller sporty-ish cars before that, despite being 6'7". I guess the shopping the FJ80's just gave me an appreciation for how well Toyota can make a car compared to other

Toyota.

I’m pretty sure Jeep has never meant so much to Chrysler now FCA in terms of relative success. It’s true, we reached this level of Jeep about 7 years ago, but I think it’s at its peak because it not only got to where it is, but has held it long enough and for a whole generation across their lineup to prove it wasn’t

If that’s the case, they will, if it’s not there will be utter silence. I’m OK with this. The satisfaction will still be mine.

Yes, places where people still buy tough vehicles to prove they aren’t a queer will sell more than their share of these things.

Welp, that does give me pause, not about my prediction, just the fact someone would cross-shop those two vehicles. I would have had the Land Cruiser instead, but you’re in a better vehicle in just about every way except for MPG. I’d say you definitely dodged a bullet.

Taking that risk, but if it is successful it’ll be nothing but a quick flash in the pan eating into wrangler sales. This has been tried before and is never a success. I don’t see thing being any different. Every SUV type thing makes a pickup version of itself at the peak of its popularity, and that popularity always

Totally. Because any day now people are going to stop buying pick ups and SUVs and start buying cars again.

Nope, just so it’s written somewhere so that I can come back and look upon it with satisfaction, this will not be a big seller and probably won’t even be carried over to the next generation of Jeep. This thing is pointless.

I have one, can confirm, gives you the false sense that you can do shit like this if you need to.

Especially the bit about the hatchback, important to keep that in mind.

I’m just saying, it’s sort of like driving a rental Sprinter van and then being like “I never understood the appeal of Mercedes.

Not since about 2016 has this been true. Totally used to be true, but not at all true anymore.

Minimally informed opinion is minimally informed.

I guess my tense could have been more perfect in your eyes, but it’s still the format he came up with that no one has really taken over, and it’s still the best way to demonstrate GTs, at least better than on a track.
