All said and done, when fleets of these vehicles are on the street getting people from place to place in just urban centers, it’ll probably have costed way less and been drastically better to invest in mass transportation. I mean, if you really want you could build trains and people movers with private pods in them.…
It won’t be *your* driverless car, in most cases. These things are going to cost well into six figures. I’d also figure since they are adding quite a bit of tech that hasn’t been in mass production automobiles before, they’ll break a lot, too.
Florida has about 6-7 times Nevada’s population. Might help y’all’s case.
Hahaha, yeah.... DST, my bad. There’s a bad pinched nerve in my back at the moment, I’ll blame it on all the medicine I’m on.
I’m in Florida, this might be the last time we ever make a DSL change.
You only have so many options moving a box through air. Unless you want to use a non-box, but then those efficiency gains are negated by the fact you can carry less stuff less efficiently. But if you are stuck with a box it’s actually best to get the wind cutting over with up front so the rest of the mass can move…
If you’re going to design a box truck, this is actually a very aero-friendly design.
Yeah I know, the current LLV is basically a slick bullet that ignores air.
I never thought Top Gear would recover but the current hosts ESPECIALLY Chris have changed my mind.
I mean, I’ve driven an LFA, I’m not saying they don’t make some exciting cars, just as Cadillac makes SOME exciting cars. The vast majority sold are, by design, serenely dull.
Wow, that was rather educational looking at Audiusa.com vs audi.co.uk. UKDM Audis are indeed boring. And wowee are there a lot of engine choices. Just the A6 for example has SEVEN engine choices, 5 of which are diesel. The USDM has 2 engine choices, both gas, and the base engine is equivalent to the top spec gas…
I thought we were talking about how boring the cars were, not their reliability. Since when does a car need to be reliable to be not boring. Have you ever actually driven an Audi and a Lexus? Audis make great noises and have dead sexy interiors.
You might want to check out Lexus.com.
That’s such a good description of Audi’s approach I checked your comment history without thinking to make sure you weren’t just an Audi marketing employee. I do wish more people were designing cars like Audi does.
I have infinite stars to give to those who protest the Real People ads from Chevy and Toyota. I’m an extremely laid back person in general, yet every time I see a Chevy ad talking about JD Powers to a group of photogenic morons I want to burn my TV in a volcano.
To early 90's eyes a Ramcharger looked better next to a Bronco. Beefier, bigger, taller, with more distinct design, stuff that mattered more in the 90's.
It hurts, but sometimes you have to let good sense overpower your nostalgia.
Ramchargers were so much better looking and spanked the Bronco in initial quality.
