>the added enticement that almond milk tasted better than soy
For a lighter, airier loaf, just make a high-hydration recipe! I prefer the stretch and fold technique to regular kneading anyway
Seriously. My baking improved overnight after I got a scale.
Agreed about brown butter, it's an extra step but worth it
If anybody is looking for a good gluten-free recipe, I’ve made these and they are FANTASTIC. One of the best cookies I’ve made, period. I’m planning on trying a half cup of almond flour the next time I make wheat cookies, too.
Throwing out a bit of burned garlic is not “throwing out a dish” like you said before.
Either you're joking or you're not thinking too hard. I slow-cooked pork ribs in my oven all the time before the quarantine.
Yeah I strongly disagree with this. Almost all dishes can almost always be saved. You’re just advocating laziness and throwing away food unnecessarily.
It really depends on your goal. Slow-cooking is a thing for a reason.
Your mom's mom probably lived through the great depression and the era of questionable food safety regulations, and those attitudes got passed down to your mom and then to you. Congrats on breaking the chain!
Well, now you have a reason to not trust that friend anymore, because they are 100% wrong here.
For cooking in general this doesn’t matter, but if you’re baking, measure by weight, not by volume! My baking improved noticeably overnight right after I got my first scale. I don’t trust recipes that only provide measurements by volume anymore.
As Marge Simpson correctly observed:
Thanks for chiming in, Fake Lizardo.
It depends in the bake. That wouldn't work for bread or anything with yeast in it, because the yeast eats the sugar.
Sorbet >>>> ice cream
I understood 90% of the words you just used!
Exactly! With pancakes it’s really hard to mess it up. Just stir a cup of discard in with an egg, a half cupbflour, 2 tsp sugar, 1 tsp baking power, and fry!
> i really don’t see how having more masks available to more people is a bad thing
