This has happened in the last 2 days: It came out that Sessions had 2 meetings with the Russian Ambassador during the campaign, then lied about it under oath to the Senate (that part’s the felony).
I haven’t had sex in ages. Where are all my opinions coming from?!? #inquiringminds
Breaking News:
Tangentially related, Tom Price’s seat in Georgia’s 6th district is up for grabs and I’m doing my best to help Jon Ossoff win. He has the endorsement of living legend John Lewis, and actually has a chance to flip the district.
Jobs!
The same people who knew that healthcare could be so complicated?
It’s not a lie when it comes out of a white man’s mouth, you see. We’re just too dumb to understand what the question *really* was. But Sessions knew what the question really was, so he wasn’t lying when he answered.
It’s almost like evidence indicates we suck at our particular form of democracy that gives our leaders the freedom to deceive people.
jesus christ, who in the administration HASN’T spoken to the russians at this point
Yeah, and the coup de grace is that spokesperson saying, “There was absolutely nothing misleading about his answer.” No shit. Not one lick of subtle obfuscation, distorted facts, or clever omissions; just cold, concrete, unambiguous lies.
I, uh, understand the map and the flashlight; the monkey intrigues me.
Whoa! Who saw that coming!?
So fucking what? Lying under oath is only a crime when it’s a Democrat committing the offense. It’s a very similar principle to the ‘deficits are only bad when they’re run during a Democratic administration,’ principle,’ or the ‘US casualties abroad are only scandalous under a Democratic administration,’ principle.
When I first read this, I thought, “Oh God, I hope the FBI investigates and brings this Keebler-looking motherfucker down,” but then I remembered the FBI is run by a man who couldn’t find his own ass with a monkey, a map, and a flashlight... Where’s the whiskey?
Yes, but it’s okay because he is a Republican.
I think the real question is: Is there anyone in that man’s campaign/administration who didn’t speak to the Russians?
So our AG committed perjury during his appointment hearing?
Such a heartening sign when the future attorney-general lies under oath.
