The Mondial is actually a very fun driving car...take it from me..I’ve owned/driven a *lot* of different cars...

remember they made 600,000+ Mustangs in 1966..
I recommend if you ever get a chance...drive one. Or at the very least read this article from MotorTrend from 1982 where they drove across the country with one.
same thing was said about the GT4 just 3 years ago on this very website...
I agree with you, one must judge a car by its epoch - but don’t forget one must also judge the car within context as well. A Dodge Challenger Hellcat is faster than a Base Porsche Panamera...so it’s a better car? Not necessarily - you can say it’s faster in the 1/4- but that’s just one measurement
Mondial 8 is actually pretty easy to wrench on yourself if you have basic knowledge...not terribly complex cars..assuming there is not something catastrophically wrong with it.
It’s fun to drive, rare, has no depreciation, you can wrench on it yourself...just a few reasons....
Thunderbolt - just curious - beyond what I deduce as your disdain for the ascetics (which I have no qualms with)...what are the other reasons you hate this car?
Remember though how may Mustang’s they made...
You don’t buy a Ferrari like this to beat anybody in drag races - it’s 1982. It’s way past any sort of quantitative measurement. Would you pass up Dino just because its 2.0 liter model?
I have grown to LOVE the 308 GT4 - the design like all classics then to age gracefully with age, or at the very least stand on their own right just due to the damn rarity...see 1935 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic
Strange, you say you have your own ‘stupid Italian sports car.. and you don’t mind the reliability issues” in the same breath your criticize your dad for the same sin of having an ‘unreliable’ Italian car? Cognitive Dissonance?
attaboy - quite a nice ROI
1) Have you drove a Mondial 8?
History has a way of repeating itself...
why would they scoff?
well said ... look just *3* years ago
yup .... this NPCP just from *3* years ago..
Why did you think it was a POS?
