I'd use either fabric paint or acrylic mixed with a fabric medium and then a sealant. Canvas shoes must get painted on/decorated all the time, since that's what Chucks and TOMS and Vans are usually made from and high school kids love nothing more than to decorate their shoes.

Oh good! $150 is much more reasonable but obviously still super expensive. Maybe you could buy some plain canvas pumps and paint them yourself, if you're at all artistic?

I learned to wear makeup at Sephora, if that helps. I just went and bought a Bare Minerals kit and had them show me how to apply it. You don't look stupid for asking, either, since Bare Minerals supposedly has some special system by which they apply the makeup, so you just say you want to learn that.

This won't help with insanely expensive, but did they look like these?

I think a lot of people forget Kate will turn 30 in six months, since she just got married and doesn't have kids yet, and mostly when people think about Kate pre-marriage, they think about "Will's college girlfriend" (and she has a young looking face). So people really think of her in this post-college state of flux,

I feel like no matter how drunk I was, I made an ass of myself. Hangovers are filled with shame because like OMG, did I *actually* think it was appropriate to read selections from my thesis/brag about how I once ate an entire pizza by myself/compose a spontaneous poem about how much I love my friends?

I had a really really terrible breakup a couple years, ago, and a Jezzie passed on this spoken word piece. It really helped, and I've kept it bookmarked on my computer ever since. Lots of hugs to you - it will get better, it just takes time.

Most Indian girls I know (granted, I am an Indian Christian) that were brought up here do a white dress for the ceremony and a red sari for the reception. Or the other way around. In other words, they do both!

Thanks! Responded.

We should be friends when you're home Or at least have a Jezzie Boston meetup?

Posted this last night, but will try again tonight just in case anyone didn't see it.

Thanks! Responded.

Sad! No interest in commuting to NYC from Boston? Chinabuses are $10!

Jezzies! Anyone in Boston looking for a roommate/want to look for an apartment together?

Since above ground pools are relatively cheap to install (under $1k) and are specifically disallowed by many homeowner's associations, and in-ground pools are a huge time and money suck (and a terrible investment), typically include increased insurance, require you to build a fence, and cost in the thousands,

It's absurd that the term "white trash" is acceptable at all. People are not garbage, people of lower classes are human beings doing their best to make it in this world, just like anyone else.

People.

There was this cool thing they did at my undergrad where staff members who had dogs brought them all to play in a fenced in area and college kids could drop in to play with them. Definitely a good "pet fix" but probably less scary/dangerous than if you did it with puppies (especially because most of the super cute

Agreed. For those who are interested, please see this Humane Society article on pet store double speak:

That's not quite what you said - you are talking about a pet store advertising a breeder (as you said you had to go to the breeder's house to pick it up). It's still weird (good breeders don't typically need to advertise at all, even if they're in rural areas, as they have waiting lists miles long) but it's not the
