Jared, from one college sophomore to another, do NOT get the Golf or Fit. They’re smaller than you think. Did multiple road trips with friends in a friends’ 2020 Golf, it was not fun and there was barely any space behind the rear seats for our stuff. Especially since I’m 6'1. Get something bigger, anything bigger,…
For highways/interstates rolling through NYC, it’s laughable to even call those things onramps. You have give or take zero ft of clearance with traffic rushing through in all lanes, not freeing up the right lane, and there’s stop signs at the end of the entrance. You have to go from 0-40mph in 2 seconds or else someone…
Might as well advertise that they’re going up in smoke.
Thanks for the article, a lot of great insights from it. It further clarifies that the problem isn’t whether all of MI falls under jurisdiction, but rather the rampant abuse and violations of the limits of their authority within and outside of their legal boundaries.
Oh it definitely happens. I remember going to a family barbecue in a state park and some relatives didnt have cars so my dad had 12 people in our 7-seater Nissan Quest. In another instance, we had about 4 adults in the back, 2 of which with a child in-lap and 2 adults in the front of a Honda Accord, so 8 people total.…
I’m just happy they’re one of the few companies that rent cars to 18 year olds in NY. Saved my ass multiple times when needing to travel for family before I could get Zipcar and then my car.
Wow that’s quite an interesting car to own. Very interesting. I can see some design elements from the Impulse along the profile and rear, and the front has some ‘90s Saturn-esque design cues it seems like.
The front of these cars are absolutely gorgeous. The smooth curvy partially-covered headlights look fire.
Holy shit I never realized the baby Porsche. Wtffff
Yeah it doesn’t really matter how they look haha. They’re single-purpose work trucks. But that is quite a disturbing sight and will take me some months to get used to once these are out on the road.
19, raised in NYC, go to college in another big city that also prevent cars for first-years. Job money goes to my expenses and student loans. Been saving for years now (and close to my goal first car). I mean whaddya gonna do 🤷♂️
Nah you totally can. Aimless drives dont have to be 300+ miles. I do 50-120 mi round trip aimless drives. A friend goes on those in his model Y without a problem.
This is actually worthy of a COTD, please.
Now this is some classic Jalopnik shit right here.
Just going off of CR here, how is it that Chevy’s Silverado AND Colorado are their least reliable car when they should be Chevy’s most robust, heavy duty, and long-term vehicles? Yet GM’s econobox semi-luxurious compact SUV is number 3 in reliability and Buick is the most reliable in North America?
Bruh.
Thats fair, I suppose. The SS styling is pretty much exactly the stock last-gen Holden Commodore, and the SS version in AU was definitely spiced up with vents and bits in a similar way to the Mazdaspeed 6.
This is the take I was looking for.
This would be perfect for the tuner market. Aftermarket parts would exist before it even came out lol. Currently the only Tuner VWs are the Golf and the Jetta GLI. It looks fantastic, and would probably be fun, even if would also probably be FWD.
