Nah. Dany’s villain ending was pure fantasy cliche. I always assume the people who were shocked by Robb’s death have read like one fantasy novel.

The part that was so weird, was th set up was quite good. Loki is interrogated about his identity and motives and choices (is he narcissistic or self-loathing?), he is then confronted with many versions of himself. Seems like the perfect way to execute a character study on a grand scale. And then … nothing. Grant’s…
I’m really enjoying Silo. And what an amazing cast!
I’m sad that Lockwood & Co didn’t catch on when the utterly bland and antiseptic Wednesday did. It was such a fun show and I’d have loved to see more of the characters.
Yeah. OG Loki’s role in the narrative was to stand around befuddled, making reaction faces to what was going on. It was so tiresome. And they did absolutely nothing interesting with the concept of alternate Lokis.
This is a weird article for many reasons but particularly given that a huge emotional thread in GotG is Star Lord finally accepting Gamora’s death and realizing that the alternate timeline Gamora is not her and can’t just be slotted back in her place.
Yeah I detested Loki. But part of that or me was the way they used the multiverse concept in the most meaningless and thoughtless way possible.
It’s actually a metaphor for the protagonist’s love for Crowded House and The Room. Duh.
What? He didn’t go to the protest to “re-energize.” He went there to abuse himself after experiencing the emotional humiliation by Kendall. Roman is broken by the penultimate episode. He actually regains a measure of agency in the finale.
Yeah. I think, in RL, the puppet CEO would be a polished empty suit with impeccable credentials.
Mencken is a sincere Nazi/fascist. He would want someone impressive-looking in the role of CEO. So obviously not either Shiv or Greg.
Mencken for one. Do you think Mencken would see Greg as an actual concession?
Tom (or any of the old guard) makes more sense than Greg. Matsson needs a puppet CEO that doesn’t look like a puppet CEO. Greg is so obviously a helpless stooge, he’d be a terrible choice for the role.
Nope. Because he needs a puppet that doesn’t look like a puppet. That’s the opposite of Greg.
They discuss her in the second intro paragraph?
Nah. It would be stupid. Mencken isn’t going to be placated by Greg being CEO. Greg is an eternal Remora/Leech. He will rise higher and higher by attaching himself to more powerful people. His main skill is the ability to debase himself without feeling sad about it.
It’s interesting seeing Shiv fall into the eternal role of the political hostess: introducing powerful men to each other and smoothing over their differences. And it is a kind of power, but it’s not the kind of power that makes you a CEO. Lukas was so careful to just say “American CEO.”
And Willa wrote it. Connor was floundering and Willa stepped in to write him to perfect, perfectly-innocuous eulogy. It was actually almost sweet. Willa using her skills and good-sense to protect Connor.
Yeah, it seemed pretty clear that the speech was powerful and galvanizing.
I’m sorry, what? You didn’t get that Willa’s eulogy was brilliant? She needed to come up with something that SOUNDED like a eulogy, but was devoid of any quote that could hurt Connor (so absolutely nothing that sounded like praise of Mo) and wildly succeeded. And on short notice no less.
