Rowling wrote Cursed Child.
It didn’t alway “side” with them but we were plainly supposed to like them and love their beautiful friendship. Why else did the finale treat Carrie leaving NY as some kind hideous potential tragedy?
Your curious why people who are described as absurdly wealthy own nice homes? Like, the show isn’t shy about the characters all being pretty wealthy.
They explained Carrie’s apartment by saying it was rent-controlled. And she eventually bought it because her wealthy friend gave her a “loan”.
I mean, there are ways to write people off a show that don’t make them sound horrible though.
I mean, I think the issue is that SatC clearly expected us to like the leads. Like, the framing very clearly shows that.
It doesn’t have to be “the same” to give empathy a boost. “Because I experienced Y, I can understand something about the people experiencing XYZ,” is a pretty simple concept.
Since the leagues have all been around for well over ten years, that ship has long since sailed.
So you’re back to rewriting events so that he didn’t grab someone against their will because that would be inappropriate? Ok.
Even if that were true (it’s not), what does that have to do with him grabbing an adult woman against her will? Did he have a psychotic break where he imagined he was his own kindergarten teacher?
He was born in the 60s. You think teachers were, what?, sweeter and cuddlier back then?
I think it’s interesting (BOOK SPOILER) that the kind of murderer he is in the book matches him. Like, a vapid, handsome, idiot, parasitically attaching himself to various women who deserve better?
Considering the plot, AH’s casting seems like a case of art imitating life….
Legalities-wise it probably depends on who is profiting and how hard the WB and/or JKR wants to defend the brand and the price of alienating fans and losing feee advertising. JKR has been pretty permissive with fan-works in the past, though not when they encroach on her own plans for the brand.
Does Coca Cola get paid when people watch their commercials?
The popularity of HP puts money in her pocket. So that doesn’t really work.
Nice disingenuous take. She claimed that allowing transwomen into women’s bathrooms would be a threat to “natal girls”. So stop sniveling about not wanting poor fragile women to see penises and own that she was saying transwomen are dangerous. Oh, and she is friends with that woman who claimed that the “trans agenda”…
Not really. There are a few hints (when they are escaping from the Children of Light). But yeah, there could have been more in the book.
Leaving Elayne out made sense since she’s only introduced without much detail in the first book. But hiding Rand so thoroughly seems like a mistake to me. Unless the focus will be having other people watch this normal guy become a messianic destroyer figure?
One thing that I’m realizing about this show is that the original SatC ended pretty satisfactorily. So even though I’m sporadically enjoying this show, I’m not really happy watching them dismantle the pleasant and satisfying ending I already got.
