Renault did it in the UK, and some other markets. They gave up competing in segments they weren’t selling well in. That didn’t mean they gave up globally, just in some markets.

I remember being so bummed when they replaced that gen with the new one (as a kid). Overtime, I’ve grown fonder of the final-gen, but damn the fourth gen still looks good.

Yet, IMO, Dodge makes one of the most characterful, interesting line-ups of cars on the market.

Someone who works at the company told me they’ve priced it and positioned it as low-end CT6/S-Class rival rather than an E-Class rival in the Middle East. I laughed at that, and then found out how much they cost here. Mind blown. Needless to say, they weren’t selling well until they were discounted very heavily.

Maybe I’m strange, but I completely disagree with that. A good buddy of mine bought an ATS with all the toys when they came out, and it’s one of the nicest interiors I’ve ever sat in.

I kind of agree with him. I don’t think being better, or even vastly better (and let’s be honest, cars are so good now, that vastly better isn’t an option, it’s a margins game) than the competition is enough for Cadillac anymore. Such a catch-22 for me. I WANT Honda to work out in F1 so bad. Yet, as a McLaren fan, it hurts to watch them use Honda powerplants.
