I’m still a fan, and honestly I don’t understand the hate for it these days. I remember the British mags having given it favorable reviews back when it launched.

I think Jalopnik needs to revisit the Cimarron. Is something that was awful brand-new, Jalop-cool now? I have a strange feeling it might be.

Not sure how thread has gone on so long without this.

I like your bracketed “but interested.” I can assure you, while Citroen is pretty cool (they’re the Dodge in this relationship), Peugeot is just as boring as Chrysler. Actually possiblyy more boring, since I think the 300 is pretty cool (and you can still buy the 300 SRT in the Middle East).

So I remember reading (on at least two websites), that despite GM having spent a fortune on the new Tahoe, Ford had trumped them by simply updating the revised Explorer in the right places. The revisions were completely on-point.

So here’s what I’d like to know:

I think the best thing to give a kid is a bike. There’s no better way to showcase the core reason we all love cars, freedom. The ability to get up and go wherever you want, whenever you want. To cover long distances with relative ease.

THAT was amazing. I grew up reading Autocar and WhatCar? So I actually understand the company car mentality a bit. I recall a piece where someone had convinced their company to give him an MK1 Elise (when it was new) using the Rover engine, and fairly low purchase price as an excuse.

This culture also exists in

Ever read American Icon? Great book on how screwed Ford was pre-bailout, and how Mulally saved the company. Tons of interesting insight that you probably won’t find anywhere else. This ad reminded me of how horrible FoMoCo was...

Beat me to it man. I just posted this, but you have a better image, so I’ll just repost the quote I pulled from Wikipedia here.

I remember reading the Cadillac Allante’s was super complicated. Here’s what I picked up from Wikipedia.

Honestly, it looks a bit like a bad kit for the new Miata.

The VW Beetle. You can spot them from miles away, no matter what the generation.

1. The 370Z. I was working with Nissan and Infiniti at the time I was shopping for a new car, and they lent me a 370Z in an effort to persuade me to buy one.

2. Mustang V6 (the generation that just died). It felt like a rental car. I really wanted to love it, but it just felt so soft.

I ended-up with the Toyota GT86.

Quick Google search turned this up. That’s the real deal as far as I can tell, and looks like a huge upgrade.

Now Murano CrossCabriolet owners have a real car to trade-up for. Not the added style and ability will mean much to someone that bought a Murano thingy in the first place...

Note: I still love you in a weird, weird way Murano CrossDresser.

I think the real reason is simpler. Tavarish. He’s convinced people to buy used exotics instead of Accords. This is also the reason the entire midsize segment is shrinking (it’s still doing that right?)

Despite every magazine telling me this was a bad idea, I once bought a Peugeot 207 RC (GTI in some markets). It was mediocre to awful in pretty much every way, except one. These seats were heavenly to sit in.

Despite all of the negative reviews floating around on the internet, I went to watch Spectre because of the cars. This is what happened: the movie which I expected to be bad, was good. The car scenes, which I expected to be awesome, were awful.

All-in-all, I thought it was the best of the Daniel Craig era.
