Looks horribly generic. The current model is a lot better-looking IMO (very handsome, if unfortunately large). Also, pales in comparison to some decent-looking competition. Not everyone will agree, but I think the Charger, Impala, Avalon, Maxima, and Azera are all great-looking cars. Not terribly exciting, but

The old one was beige in a tailored suit. This is no different. I’m not sure when the Optima was ever charming.

This thread needs more wagon.

So it’s a re-grilled Mazda 2 sedan. They sell them out here in the UAE, and they are some of the ugliest cars on the road. Thankfully the 2 is one of those rare exceptions where the hatch is more popular.

I like the Thunderbolt too, but it looks a little "off."

I've driven Jebel Hafeet several times, and drove Jebel Jais for my birthday this year. It was just as epic as it looks.

I think the Artega is a VERY pretty, little thing.

Actually, as far as I know about Brabus, they DO sell their cars under their own name, and not as modded Mercs. The difference is they work with Mercedes's blessing. I'm guessing Fisker screwed something up along those lines.

I could not tell the difference between this and the XE. I had to pull up pictures of them side by side, and even then the differences were so minute, I could barely make out. I'm sure there's a huge difference in proportions and size, but damn. Only the interiors seem reasonably distinct. Jaguar's out-Audied Audi.

You know what would've been cool? If this was a legit prequel, and had period-correct cars and all. So instead of an Audi A8, the main car would be a Audi V8.

The Juke is also pretty awful to drive. I do some work with Nissan, and was curious about it during the launch, so they lent me a car for a couple of days. I've never been so let down by a car before.

Ladies & gentleman, introducing the non-Photoshopped luxury box.

Wait, is this thing based on the original Vanquish, or the current-generation? The interior makes me think the original.

This may prove to be a controversial choice, but I'm going to go with the Bentley Flying Spur. It has a classic, sedan look to it. I think it's timeless, elegant, has presence, and will age extremely well. Nothing says "money with taste" better to me.

I can't understand the hype behind the Fusion. It's a pretty face, but the rest of it poorly proportioned, fussy, and just generally generic-blob to me.

I hated it when they switched to that grille, but I see the facelifted version almost daily now, and I think it's still stunning. Not my favorite four-door though...

If you want to talk about current cars, the Jetta and North American Passat make a convincing case for themselves.

Amen. There's a classic simplicity to the original, that the later models are missing. Don't get me wrong, the later models are beautiful in a much more striking way, but this is ageing extremely well.

Seems to be the general trend with full-sizes. The Taurus and Impala look absolutely colossal...and are. The Avalon and Charger look more like what I expect of full-sizes.

Heh, I've lived in the Middle East most of my life. There's actually a super clean C160 in my neighborhood. There's something I find so appealing about the simplicity of a stripper model luxury sedan.
