It’s split between two time periods, one prior to the events of the first game and one after.
I do too! I would like those new directions to be interesting. The leaked plot does not seem interesting to me; if TLoU was derivative of film and television, then TLoU2 seems derivative of other video games.
Different strokes, I guess. To me the leaks were really disappointing and confirmed my suspicions that TLoU2 really should’ve been about a completely different set of characters.
Honestly I think the only changes they’d make would be the ones necessary to bring Replicant over, like changing all the dialogue about Nier being Yonah’s father to being her brother. Stuff like that. My fear is they’ll decide to redub the entire game rather than just the relevant bits, and we’ll get a new voice cast…
The only guest character for MK9 (on PC at least) was Freddy Kruger, and WB owns Nightmare on Elm Street, so I don’t know why that would be an issue.
A little bit, but the color palette reminds me a lot more of Superhot.
AZ is almost always a year or two behind the newest games. The best strips are the ones that are for games old enough to become classics, so they don’t feel as dated as the strips that are referencing games that are 1-2 years old.
I’m disappointed that the first comment is already dismissive of the entire concept of thinking critically about topics like this. I found the article very informative and enlightening, and I think we should be having conversations like this. Writing it off as “just cosmetics” isn’t helping anything. Caring about…
What is the joke in that Corpse Run strip? I am genuinely baffled as to what that’s supposed to be making fun of.
My guess is the launch copies will be in the steelbook, and it’ll get another print run with a standard case after that.
ngl when I read the headline I thought Awkward Zombie was doing another MGS comic
Apologies for not having much to say about the review, but AAAHHH THE SITE LAYOUT IS REVERSED AND IT FREAKS ME OUT
Fighting games have a limited pool of potential inputs at any given time, so it’s much easier to predict what the players are gonna do than it would be in a more open 3D game.
Skill trees, much like open world sandboxes, seem to be added to a lot of games not because they benefit the game’s design or even because they’re fun on their own terms, but because “all the big games have them.”
How demanding the game is doesn’t matter for how difficult it would be to stream. All Google is sending to the end user is a video stream. The problem is the latency from the user’s inputs to Google’s servers and then back to the user.
I think they realized they were stuck between a rock and a hard place with Mai. With Bayonetta, they were able to reduce the amount of clothing that gets removed when she attacks so she still remains covered, but Mai’s costume is always revealing. If they changed the outfit, fans would complain, but if they left it…
Various costume changes, a dungeon redesign, and a lot of story alterations to tone down some of the idol stuff. But what makes me confused is that the bulk of the changes are just due to the English translation, so I would think the Japanese version would still use the original script?
And? I don’t think anyone’s necessarily putting the blame on Visual Concepts alone for the game turning out so bad. Yuke’s leaving the series probably caused a lot of headaches for the team, but the fault ultimately lays with 2K and (possibly) WWE for forcing an annual release schedule despite the obviously declining…
Bayonetta and Fortnite are on pretty opposing ends of the spectrum as far as audience overlap goes. Plus, you can be a fan of games and still not be familiar with popular streamers.
