I think a more fair comparison is a late-model Park Avenue, which is an excellent car in it’s own right despite all the typical GM bullshit.

This is pretty cool...
I wouldn’t pay 7 grand for an S10 if it was factory fresh. They all feel like they have 200k miles no matter what shape they’re in.
This is not the good Frontier I can assure anyone who wants one of these. I’ve driven an mechanically identical Frontier sans the supercharger many times and this engine is a cast-iron turd. No balls, no economy, and it’s not even particularly reliable. The truck itself is just ok, it’s fairly solid but boring as hell…
Even my ‘97 D21 is steadily crumbling after 6 years of OH weather. This must have been a very well-maintained tool.
That is probably the worst shade of grey I’ve ever seen on a vehicle, but other than that damn that’s a sexy truck.
The droopy nose is kind of letdown compared to the rest of the truck.
I’m really glad I’m not the only one, I was starting to wonder about my mental health. I guess I just have extraordinary shit-giving abilities.
Bruh
I’m kind of late to leave this comment but I’m shocked you haven’t done a MCM on the 2000's oval Taurus. What a boring lump of car.
The VG33 is a cast-iron turd that can’t get out of it’s own way and yet consumes gas like a V8. Maybe the 3.0 is decent, but speaking from (a lot of) experience the 3.3 is pretty shitty. Like I would go with a Vulcan over it because at least the Vulcan is indestructible.
To not make half-baked, shitty cars?
I don’t know how but somehow you managed to be both elitist and naive in your comment. Do you really think Ford would hesitate to drop a shitbox on the market? They sold the Tempo until 1994.
That was glorious to me as a 7 year old, along with the Jeep J10. The intake noise from that Jeep going full throttle in a ditch will forever be ingrained in my head.
Holy fuck that body roll.
I don’t know why but “steel mill” is weirdly fitting.
No, the Montes you showed are not the ones you should be pissed about,
Am I a bad person if I think the oval Taurus actually isn’t all that bad looking in the stock photo? Minus the completely pointless spoiler of course.
I’ve sat in a good portion of these cars and the GM cars were far worse in quality and (subjectively) appearance.
Not even remotely.
