Small thing, but: why was Kershaw pitching from the stretch in the 8th with nobody on? That’s not a normal thing for him; he definitely didn’t do it in Game 2. Maybe getting in his own head a little bit? Like trying to “get in reliever mode” or something, instead of just making his pitches?
Yeah, I was at that game too, and it was brutal to go up early and then slowly piss the game away. The crowd anticipated the collapse too...you could feel it in the stadium. Last night felt the same way until Trea hit the home run...that changed the mood.
I just got home from the game, and the roar after Soto hammered that pitch to right was unquestionably the loudest sound I have ever heard. It’s easy to get hyper-cynical in DC these days (or anywhere really), but that was a very cool sports moment.
Lincecum’s pals would definitely be happy to see him more often, if only he’d just answer his damn phone.

Hell, take two more dribbles and pull up for a regular three if you want to shoot…
