Yeah, pretty sure you don’t need to be “sensitive” to notice a door slamming or lights flickering. Regular eyes can do that.

..........okay, inexperienced would-be writer explains A LOT about that story.

Okay, I laughed, have your star.

It might have changed some time since then (I mean, I haven’t been a kid in a while now) but I never heard anything about it. I don’t remember even being told that St. Helens was still active - everything was always in the context of “this happened and was awful” but it was always past tense, you know?

99% of the people I’ve encountered who go around saying that they’re “sensitive” or “empaths” were just wishful thinking. If you really are, you most likely don’t want it and don’t want to go around advertising it.

Confusedly, really.

The weird thing is, I grew up in Washington in the 80s and (of course) heard a lot about Mount St. Helens, but I never even knew that Rainier was a volcano at all.

Yes, this! It’s like a story about how sad it was these people died in a car accident with a belated, oh, whoops, I should add something about ghosts tacked on at the end.

Honestly, I thought that one was the least scary - it was so caught up in flowery language that it obscured anything scary in the story.

The new Duck Tales is a bit more comic book-ish in style, with darker outlines and slightly squarer heads, so there is a difference...it’s just a very minor one, and I certainly wouldn’t have brought it up as an example along the lines of old/new She-Ra.

I don’t think the dress is that bad, except for the fact that the fabric looks like she’s wearing a Fruit Roll-Up.

The bookbag had no comment.

Yep, I’ve seen a Turtwig and a Bidoof.

This isn’t new - I’ve been hearing about people getting this email since probably some time in August.

My mother saved a copy of the newspaper from the day all of her kids were born - I was born the day Rachel killed her kids, so I had an incredibly cheerful newspaper headline, let me tell you.

While I was working 911 dispatch we had a couple of guys making threats against dispatchers because they blamed us for getting them arrested - specifically, threats that they wanted to get on top of a nearby building and snipe us as we walked in or out of dispatch. The dispatch center was completely separate from the

Well, yes, but I’m a little uncertain about changing the emphasis from the main character to more of a team thing - yeah, the other characters were around in the original, but they were mostly there to sell more dolls, not because there was an interesting story to them.

Although maybe that’s the thing that’s pinging my

They’re all princesses of their own respective planets. Serenity is just the highest ranking princess.

Making everyone a princess with a special power is kind of giving off a Sailor Moon or My Little Pony vibe...I’ll have to wait until the show is actually out to decide what I think of that. Otherwise I’m still really excited to see it.

I’ve found that I have to be really careful about which books I loved as a teenager I try and re-read now, because some of them...let’s just say a different perspective on them kind of spoils the memory of liking them at one point.
