Watching Kino is kind of like reading a collection of short stories about the same character. Some of them give more insight into said character than others, but I don’t remember ever needing to know something from another episode in order to get what’s going on in the current one.

Hang on, hang on, not quite. Sakura didn’t want to get the “operation” to become an adult, so her parents declared her defective and tried to kill her. The original Kino died to protect her and she ran off - she didn’t murder anyone.

Kino very deliberately avoids using any kind of gender marker in the series, though they never say exactly why. The flashbacks and the flashforwards definitely show her as female, though.

As I recall, Kino uses “boku” and is deliberately androgynous, so there is room for confusion if someone doesn’t do their research.

It’s true that English doesn’t have the gender-neutral pronouns like Japanese does, but even just a simple check of Wikipedia would tell them that Kino is female. It’s a massive translation fail.

Kino is a girl. The flashback episode in the first season confirmed it, and there was even a dumb AU light novel spinoff where Kino was a magical girl. I don’t understand why CR subs say “he” all the time.

Was going to say, um, I thought that was...what an ambassador...is for......

in my opinion and I know this to be true

#7: People sawing crazily at the wheel, yet the car continues to track straight. Seriously? You need to get your car checked if it’s got that much play in the steering.

It happens. At the center where I used to work we got hang-up calls from cell phones all the time, it was just a standard routine to contact the cell provider, get info, send an officer to welfare check. Sometimes they’d called (a lot of the time doing a “what does this button do” for “Call Emergency”), sometimes

(does that exist in Utah?)

When I was a kid my parents went to see The Nutcracker with my older sister one year, then with me the next (not sure if I was too young the first year or if they were saving on ticket money, it was a long time ago), and the year I went my sister was old enough that they decided she could stay home without a

Not that weird - 911 centers can contact cell phone companies in order to get subscriber information for phones that call 911. That’s how they track you down in the first place, since cell phones don’t necessarily send an accurate location to 911 when they call (I’m guessing this was some years ago, it used to be

There is something weirdly terrifying about those shoes. Maybe it’s the way they come to such a sharp point, like they’re sword-shoes or something.

That theory is kind of controversial, though. IIRC the USGS and Red Cross have specifically spoken against using it.

If you’re sheltering under a table or other furniture, HOLD ON TO IT. Doesn’t do you much good to curl up under a table and have the table slide away off of you because of the shaking.

25th Amendment could do it, but that would require members of the executive branch to declare he’s unfit.

I was honestly kind of gobsmacked by this one, because wow, welcome to the corporate world. Letter writer was incredibly lucky to get a unicorn of a mentor boss and should treasure that, but seriously, don’t expect that. Ever. From anyone. Almost every boss I’ve ever had has been so busy dealing with pressure from the

My first reaction, too. Either wear the helmet or don’t, lady, having it awkwardly plopped on top of your head without being fastened in place is completely useless.
