Former dispatcher here, and yes, it does sometimes happen. Phone lines can get weird glitches.

I used to have a ghost cat in my house. I would see movement out of the corner of my eye or feel movement going by me when nothing was there, but for months I just kept shrugging it off as my imagination. Then I had a friend stay over one night and in the morning she asked when I got a cat, because she’d heard it

Looks like in Utah “their pension is 37 percent of their ending salary.” So it really does depend on whether they cut his salary to match his rank.

Not sure about his current pay, but from what I understand your rank at retirement determines what retirement pay you pull, so he just lost a lot.

I think the supervisor was only not fired because the officer omitted certain valid bits of information when consulting with him, but being busted from lieutenant back down to police officer is a very, very harsh blow.

If you think I’m talking about someone in a position of relative power like Gwyneth Paltrow, you’re clearly being deliberately obtuse and/or trying to pick a fight. I don’t have the energy for dealing with people like you, so done.

Congratulations. Your complaint accomplished something. I call that positive. Mine got me months of unemployment and being completely blacklisted in my previous field, and absolutely nothing happened to the people I reported. Nothing. Nada. I call that negative.

No, I agree. But I will never point a finger of blame or shame at a victim who didn’t feel brave enough to step up.

Your experience had a positive outcome. Great. My experience when I reported, and the experiences of other people I know, most definitely did not, therefore I have a bit more empathy for the people who are dealing with this kind of garbage. It’s hard to be alone, scared, and ashamed and facing unemployment and worse.

This is true. But when you’re afraid and ashamed and feel like part of it is your fault, how are you going to trust that enough people are going to back you up?

So you speak up, get fired, get your story brushed under the rug, and absolutely nothing is accomplished except you’re out of a job and possibly blackballed, depending on your industry.

As you say, these men are running the world. What good does it do to speak up, in most cases?

Weird, I’ve never seen anyone misspell “goldfish” like that before.

Every JJ’s I’ve been in has both looked and smelled clean, so good to know my trust is well-founded.

I am so excited for more Kino’s Journey, words cannot even say. I continue to hope that someone will pick up the rest of the light novels for translation.

Ugh yes. My mother loves squash, any kind of squash. I have yet to find one that doesn’t make me want to hurl.

Completely agreed on this point. The only veggies I had as a kid were either canned and reheated in the microwave or boiled into submission. Now that I’m an adult I have a hard time bringing myself to eat anything resembling a vegetable, but I’m slowly learning about the wonders of roasting rather than boiling them.

I had a bout with coronavirus last winter and it was hideous and awful but seriously, nothing like the last time I had the flu. I could still take care of myself, which I was pretty much incapable of with the actual flu.

According to a bunch of people on the interwebs, if you see this movie and don’t immediately love it forever, you’re just uneducated and don’t understand film, man.
