I love the premise of this post - so true and so helpful. I find that often, women especially, are quick to focus on their shortcomings and ignore their strengths.

I’m 48 and have gradually realized that the matte look really doesn’t work for me anymore. I love vintage in general, but matte and dark lipsticks are not the go-to items they once were.... YMMV. And frankly it took someone else pointing it out to me for me to see, over time, that they were right.
True, but a matte look isn’t always the most flattering... Especially when you get a little older. Consider putting something glossier on top of the matte.
Stressful. Positive psych tells us that people need Meaningful Work to be happy; to me a boring job implies pointlessness which sounds horrible.
Thanks for the advice - thanks for even writing about this. :)
Cool - great idea for Quinoa especially!
I have this too and while it’s compact and practical, it’s so heavy. I’m excited with this Hive 5 to discover there are so many others out there.
Trader Joes Frozen Cutlet Ridiculously Easy Cooking Hack: heat garlic in olive oil and remove, add frozen chicken breasts, season, flip, season, splash of white wine, stir, you’re done.
I work in Entertainment and when I saw this billboard while driving down Sunset Boulevard, my jaw dropped - briefly I wondered whether they’d reinvented the show as a parody. I simply couldn’t believe that in 2015 a show built on the premise of giving an unknown director a chance was such a white, male sausage-fest.
Melanie, you left us hanging - how many extra t-shirts with packing cubes? (not that it completely matters, as you’ll pry my e-bags packing cubes out of my cold dead hands). Still - am curious.
I’ve never heard of this “comedian” or the movie she was attached to. The only reason to talk about it is to give her attention. Which just puts her ugly words more in the spotlight. Sigh. Can’t we just ignore fame whores like this? Anyone...?
Claire, that’s like withholding military grade intel! Hilarious.
OMG! Lifehacker you are the best!!!! “I honestly had never noticed those little tabs, so this was actually a life-changing revelation.” - me too!
Best $ I ever spent.
JURY DUTY! I did this at Jury Duty - old court buildings have no outlets. People were amazed and I was super popular. In fairness it wasn’t a full strip - it was a travel thingy with 3 or 4 outlets, but I was so appreciated. I got to charge my devices and share. Win-win. Oh, and where did I get this idea and the…
Looks good. Hey Product Team: can you please build in a human approval layer for the images from affiliated blogs on the left column so I NEVER again have to be confronted with images of a woman being shot in the face like I was last week when I innocuously clicked on Lifehacker for a short break. I come to Lifehacker…
I just LOVE the dots. I’m not remotely coordinated enough or neat enough to work with a completely blank page. I love the freedom of the dots - like if I want to make something bigger or use the page in a different configuration - for me it’s pretty fabulous and ideal. Also quality of paper is excellent. Wish they…
