True story: My wedding dress was tea length and emerald green. I bought it at a local wedding dress shop from the bridesmaid section. I ended up going in for 2 fittings and both times the staff freaked out because they couldn’t find my dress. They could only find the bridesmaid’s dress. Then they’d hang their heads in…
THEY ARE SO TACKY! Who on earth wants a rhinestone-encrusted mesh corset with an aggressively shiny hoop skirt? You know that famous Dolly Parton (all hail Dolly, I love her so) quote, “it costs a lot of money to look this cheap”? Well ...
I absolutely will not. How dare you.
My eyes just rolled so hard they fell out of my head and now I am blind.
When I first read the headline I thought they meant “nobody complained about this guy so we hired him thinking he was okay,” which is fucked up enough in terms of blaming, but the actual story is SO MUCH WORSE. They had evidence he was a predator, hired him anyway, then blamed a young woman for not coming forward…
Yep. That’s exactly what my daughter’s school did when she went to a counselor about an older boy who physically assaulted her. They basically said that they didn’t believe her story because it took so long for her to come out with the whole story (she’s 11) that while they believed *something* *may* have happened…
Same thing happened when I was in high school. A classmate complained, and the school’s reaction was so aggressive and protective of its own interests that the student then recanted. She saw that the school wasn’t going to support her, so she clammed up was taken out of the predatory teacher’s class. Then the teacher…
The school is blaming a child for her own abuse and the abuse of other children. That is fucked up. The school failed her and others by not protecting them.
“Early Halloween” tee-hee-hee. Awesome, mom.
I had the same thought, but Britney is Britney. You can’t buy taste. This is common knowledge.
I love vintage fashion- even under Spring siege. But those pinafore dresses can burn.
Yep, my SO is staying late to watch a game tonight, he’ll be grading all weekend (as will I), he sponsors multiple clubs, stays after school to tutor students. It’s lawyer hours for janitor pay.
Could not be more true. It’s infuriating, the way we’ve seemingly come to accept that working full time at the going rate for certain jobs will barely cover rent alone. We’ve accepted that if you work in certain fields, you don’t deserve a decent quality of life.
Maybe these religious organizations should start paying some taxes before they think they can decide what is and isn’t covered by health care.
I love that, for these people, filling out a two page form is an "undue burden" but 48 hour waiting periods and making women drive 400 miles to the nearest Women's Health clinic isn't.
Obligatory:
Still paying for Nixon; Gonna have to borrow to pay for Trump.
