I hope they can get this bullshit before they hit te grand stage at Le Mans. I Really want to se the Ford GT team execeute a strong competitive finish.

What? Audi? In the current rules format, the GT classes stand ZERO chance of an overall win at Le Mans. Ford isn’t setting it’s sights on Audi. They’re setting their sights on Corvette, Ferrari, Aston Martin, and Porsche 911.

Big difference. The Nissan was unreliable AND slow. The Ford is only unreliable but very fast. One can be fixed, both means back to the drawing board.

It’s been my experience with electrical things that if they’re going to break it will be in the first few hours of operation. Unless it’s electrolytic caps. Those fuckers wait till the warranty is expired.

The amount of sadness from the fanboys is amusing. Guys, it’s a new race car, it’s going to have problems. The new M6's are being finnicky at times too. Strangely, the super-late-delivered 488's are looking great, go figure.

What’s the point? Manufacturers can build cars for production sports car competition that have no relationship to their road cars. So what? I read that the Mazda 6 Skyactiv Diesel won its class championship one year. It was an RX8 chassis skinned as a mid-sized sedan and powered by an engine that never reached

You’re either rooting for Ford or you’re an ISIS member living in America and you need to get the fuck out.

I completely agree with you. What’s the point in having multiple manufacturers if they don’t get to prove that their car is best? If you want them all to be the same, just build all the cars to exacting spec with no leeway and put the drivers in them at random.

“Most WTSC classes (save for Prototype Challenge) feature different kinds of cars, so something has to be done to ensure the performance of these different cars is somewhat equal.”

No, everybody is sandbagging their responses.

99% of all racecar engineering is designing things in a way that the rulebook hasn’t yet explicitly prohibited.

I’d be surprised if anyone was surprised?

You’re saying 99% of cars are debadged in Germany?

Yes, but if you have money, presumably you’d like to keep more of it. Send money and stickers, please.

Rallies have sponsors. Often the drivers are the owners of said sponsoring businesses.

Because people buy supercars under their companies with sponsors so they can write it off as a business expense. You only need 1 10“ sticker to write a car off as a marketing expense. And look at how many companies they market there...

Rallies mainly.
