Trainwreck is funny. It’s well-written and has a solid screenplay by Schumer. Judd Apatow has a long string of hits behind him and he both directed and produced it, so....that’s how it got made.

Oh, is circlejerking about how much Amy Schumer sucks still a thing?

I loved it. Weak third act, but overall it made me laugh a lot.

I’m not usually into these movies, but one I really enjoy is “Angels Sing,” starring Willie Nelson and Harry Connick Jr. (and Lyle Lovett, and Connie Britton, and Kris Kristofferson...it has a good cast). The setup of “dad with no Christmas spirit learns to love the holiday again when he’s forced to decorate for it”

Remember when Mischa Barton was famous? What happened?

We still have baby monitors and surveillance cameras...

I think the camper scene in the original The Hills Have Eyes wins all the marbles, personally.

Wow, I have not thought about that movie in years. It used to come on periodically as the Saturday afternoon movie when I was a kid, so I’ve actually seen it a few times. The message, really, is that if you’re in an RV and you’re attacked by a demon, stay away from the damn windows.

You should see Welcome to Me. He’s definitely not his normal typecast self in that.

I really loved Dredd and I was confused that it didn’t do better (while the Robocop remake made a big profit). The failure of the Dark Universe still pisses me off, because that could have been brilliant. Too bad sitting through The Mummy was like sitting through a timeshare presentation (albeit one with a few spots

I would argue the 70s came back more than a decade ago when it comes to darker, alternative comedy. Films like Smile and Harold and Maude and Network have been leaned on heavily for inspiration for years now.

Now I want a Play Misty for Me musical, god dammit.

Oh look, Bill Maher’s being a giant fucking asshole again. Film at 11!

Hasn’t she stated that she has no interest? Why do people keep talking about her running?

I don’t know, I haven’t watched a new Simpsons episode in a while and I watched this episode last night and thought it was decent. Also, when I say “I haven’t watched a new Simpsons episode in a while” that doesn’t mean I haven’t seen The Simpsons, because it’s literally on every day in reruns and any college kid

What always interested me about Rushmore is that it was filmed at St. John’s. My father went to St. John’s and he watched Rushmore with me, and he thought it was a strange but interesting choice to put everyone in scarves and coats because it’s just never that cold at St. John’s. Houston is a humid armpit of a city, I

I like the Mountain Goats’ line from No Children:

Um, he’s surprised? Know your audience, it’s an Israeli film festival.

Cool, except, I always thought Georgie Girl was a much earlier plus size romance, although I guess that’s more drama than comedy. But beyond that, can’t we at least acknowledge that Ricki Lake gets some credit in Hairspray? I mean, come on.

And how did she make it to her THIRD YEAR?
