My parents had 100% no idea what I was covering when I took AP Bio because I lived with my dad and he was too busy. He knew when I was scheduled to take the test, but that was about it. He knew what I was doing in AP calc, though, because I asked him for help with it.

I seem to remember there was a Cyrano episode of Roseanne, too...

It really is one of the coolest and most interesting music videos I’ve seen in a long time. I wish I had watched it before I saw the SNL performance, but I thought both were still powerful. I missed the white horse and the man falling.

In the book, she was not considered actually married because he had been married before. I haven’t read the book in forever, so I can’t remember if they were actually an interracial couple in the book but I don’t think they were.

Oh come on, that Oran “Juice” Jones sketch was pretty golden, as was the Migos sketch. And the sexy talk sketch had some good lines, and Weekend update. The Barbie intern sketch had the kind of absurd weirdness that I enjoy. Also, excellent musical performances IMO.

I, for one, am happy to have something light and fun to look forward to. Infinity War is heavy, and there needs to be some levity in between heavy installments. And it’s not like all of the characters are permanently gone, anyway (well, Loki for sure is, probably Gamora too).

I think vision will return, just not in his standard form.

I’m a couple of years younger than you, but I also remember when Dennis Miller was hilarious, specifically his Black & White special. Going back and rewatching some of his earlier sets, the material isn’t quite as clever as I thought it was then, but his delivery is still strong. He’s got talent and skill. I can’t for

No.

What are you talking about, she made a Bear Stearns joke.

She made a joke about that, yes—it was one of the funnier lines, IMO.

I agree with you that appearance shaming is never cool, but that’s not what this is. You should learn more about what a smoky eye is and then possibly actually watch the set.

I was surprised when I finally watched the speech, because all these comments leading up to it made me think there would be, you know, actual attacks on her appearance. And there weren’t. Even the eye makeup joke isn’t making fun of her appearance, it’s making fun of the fact that she’s a liar. The center of the joke

I just started watching Search Party and right away it reminded me of Bored to Death—but to me Bored to Death seemed to have the same millennial ennui to it. The shows were only made 7 years apart, and I really don’t think they’re that different except maybe Search Party seems a little more character driven. Search

My bad, I missed it! Well I feel silly...

I haven’t watched the premiere yet, but I’m imagining what it sounds like...Heart Shaped Box is my favorite Nirvana song and I can’t picture it really working as an instrumental. The vocals are, IMO, essential to that song having the emotional impact it has. Then again, I would have been dubious about an instrumental

Isn’t The Passenger kind of already punk though? Maybe not obviously in terms of style or tempo, but I think of it as a punk song, mainly because it’s Iggy Pop.

It’s so insulting. It’s like we’re still stuck in the 80s. Hey, guess what? The issue isn’t that “welfare queens” won’t work, it’s that their jobs pay them fuck all. Like everything else he does, this is just a superficial gesture. This administration is all pomp and no thoughtfulness or meaningful work.

Now playing

Two I think should be mentioned. The Player, which shows us right off the bat exactly what the movie will be like:

I miss that show. And it’s a crime that I can’t find it in the U.S. with the original music anymore.
