I agree it’s a silly term—I think there should just “series” and “miniseries” and that’s it. But my point is that it was originally intended as a limited series. They changed their mind about that long after it was completed after seeing dollar signs. So if something is conceived as a “limited” series and there’s only

That’s a good point, but then if he hadn’t done it we wouldn’t have the awesome parody of it in Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping

Wow, I missed that. I just looked it up and holy Leni Riefenstahl, Batman.

I guess I’m confused...they just announced that, so wouldn’t they have done the nominations before it was public knowledge? One of the purposes of a limited series is as a potential feeler for continuing series that might work. It seems like this year they consider it limited, and next year they’ll consider it a

Well it’s about time someone appreciated Jude Law’s work in The Young Pope. He’s just phenomenal. But also Ewen McGregor was great in Fargo, and he played two roles. Speaking of which, why no love for Mary Elizabeth Winstead? She’s great in everything she does, and I thought she was especially good in Fargo.

I’m confused—why would Big Little Lies be disqualified? It’s a limited series, they’ve greenlit another season.

Macklemore is kind of a hack and he’s way overrated, but he seems like a genuinely nice guy (unless I missed some news, please don’t tell me he did something awful).

The Manny subplot with the teacher reminded me of an episode of Designing Women when Julia’s son does pretty much the exact same thing. I liked the resolution of that show’s storyline better.

I saw this film on Friday, and I have to say I disagree with the C rating. I do not think it was the Oscar dark horse that people have been buzzing about—in fact I think that’s all a bit silly. But I really enjoyed it, and I think it honored the material. I would have liked to see some more details kept from the book

It’s because they’re easy targets—easy to impress, less likely to reject.

He’s a serial philanderer and batterer. Even after he pummeled Heidi Fleiss’ face he only did 3 months in jail plus rehab. The dude’s a loser, and I hope he lapses into complete obscurity.

Right? I am so irritated by all the “I can’t believe this is happening!!” comments on Reddit, as if people haven’t been talking about this for YEARS. Fuck all of those people that called his accusers whores and posers and untalented and so on. He’s a funny, talented guy. I love his comedy. That doesn’t mean he’s

I’m having mixed feelings about this—I wish they would hold off on reporting the investigations unless the investigations find something. First, reporting all of these investigations runs the risk of diluting the public interest in a really important issue. Second, it drags people’s names through the mud needlessly. I

Something about that portrait—it takes days to paint a portrait like that, and it take days to dry an oil painting, so...did he just have that painting sitting around his house ready to go? Like, I would believe it, but still...nuts.

Eh, he burned down a person’s house and systematically tried to destroy her life. I think he could shoot someone to get a job he wanted.

I’ve been concerned throughout this season that this show was going to go soft on Lee Russell and try to get the audience to sympathize with him—he is a bad, bad person, and I’m glad they had the diary scene because it was a nice reminder (as if we could forget that he’s an arsonist and blackmailer and total sleaze).

Lol, I thought she was just exhibiting faux surprise as if to say she was shocked the women at the school hadn’t tried to kill him. After all, he wasn’t exactly prince charming to her and she doesn’t let him forget it.

I firmly believe that Lee is beyond redemption—I think he’s purely evil. Gamby, on the other hand, is capable of redeeming himself. He let Lee influence him into doing terrible things, but in his heart I do not think he is bad—but Lee’s really, really bad. So if this series concludes by having them team up as hero

I agree that the crazy chick is misdirection, but Ray being the shooter would be a real twist on his character—one that I just wouldn’t buy.

Call me stubborn, but I still think he did it. If they make Abbott the shooter I’ll be very disappointed. I just don’t think that fits with her character—it would make more sense for her to try to hurt Snodgrass, not Gamby. It’s also possible that someone hired a shooter to shoot Lee and they shot the wrong vice
