Add the great X-Files ep "Small Potatoes" to the list of shows using that real life scenario; of course, they added tails to the babies, a tailed, shape-shifting Darin Morgan as both Luke Skywalker and Fox Moulder, and a hysterical script from Vince Gilligan.

Wait, they're not doing a remix of "Smack My Bitch Up"?

Benny, meant to ask you on some other thread, but did you try just regular 'ol Benny Profane as a username and found it was already taken? 'Cuz that's my original username, which I no longer use. If TPTB could arrange it, you can have it, as I no longer post under that username anymore…although the "fucking" works

Probably been mentioned round these parts before by some savvier, quicker commenter than I, but I find it downright spooky that Glen Close was Williams mum in Garp, and now looks exactly like Williams in every bit of advertising I've seen for Albert Noobs.

So, uncool story bro alert time!  I had to ask my special lady friend what made the "George" reference funny.  She looked at my, utterly exasperated, and asked didn't I read "Uncle Tom's Cabin" in High School?  And…no, actually, I hadn't.  Seeing how I was a minority at my High School, and I guess not wanting to set

Scott, just wanted to give you a shout out not just for the Hoberman blurb from his damn fine (and typical "I need to goggle the hell out of some of those people he just referenced") essay for Criterion, but also for the (be it ever so slight) bump that his work may receive from you even mentioning him; fucking

Wait a sec, no VD's tonight? And damn you AV Club for that 10 Reasons you should be watching the VD's, and double damn my special lady friend for getting hooked and thus deluging my already feeble mind with crazy plot twists, Klaus, The Hair! and more mundane (yet utterly addictive) pablum.

Huge fan of Naranjo's previous film, love his long takes and genius eye, but damn, it seems like I've been reading about this film for ages (didn't Mike D. cover it @ Cannes last year?), and I'm thrilled it's finally getting some sort of limited release.

Boring story bro alert! 3rd to last time I caught LCD was @ the Fillmore SF w/M.I.A. opening. After a very good M.I.A. set (much improved over her show the night before @ The Independent (jet lag/visa issues)), LCD proceeeed to rip into a brilliant set. I (poorly) jiggle-danced my bony ass off, so much so I was

"An orgy of violence.". Now *that's* a pull quote!

Schmitz sounds like some sort of shitty swill, but changing *his* name to Dotcom didn't do fatty any favors.

I dunno about the fanboy/girl squee at the end there, but holy balls, The Raid looks like a cuntgaggle of awesomeness.

Whither "Teenage F.B.I."?

@avclub-0398e75c1be48a8f66c9cb1c9e6b2052:disqus  - April concert going in the Bay Area is plum with pickings; Mangum for two dates @ the Fox,  M83 @ the Fillmore for two days, and now St.Vincent & tUnE-yArDs on April 24th?  I'm really, really, REALLY hoping that Pulp plays a gig or two around here as well.  I'm

That's Hawaii for you; jeez, enough with the social commentary already!

1-800-Cyanide line.

Call me caustically optimistic, but I'm that way about most things.

You know, for the kids!

@ dantebk - Twyker's got a track record with helming supposedly unadaptable novels - I happen to really dig "Perfume", and practically every big filmmaker took at least a slight swing at it and whiffed on even deigning to touch that book. Sumptuous visual stylist that was somehow able to translate the sense of smell

Jeezy Pete's I hope he catches on, big time. Not only for his ample acting ability (pulls of a blonde rather nicely in "Tinker, Tailore, S.S.") but just that whiter than an alibino's white toast name should be a hoot and a half to pun but a total wtf to the lesser witted individual.
