So apparently Nathan was asked a question about Joss, and he answered it. Why is that confusing?

If you listen to the podcast, which AV Club has somehow made two separate stories about, Cooper is talking about how he expected the Hollywood acting and directing community to be more welcoming, or at least nominally cordial, like he thinks would be towards another person’s success. He was then apparently shocked

The AV Club is so dedicated to combating the scourge that is Dave Chappelle that they’re now running articles made entirely of excerpts of people criticizing Dave Chappelle.

I was unemployed for a year and, to add insult to injury, I ended a long-term relationship at the end of that year. It took a lot of time to re-build my finances and my self-esteem after that. I live in the Northwest, so I started smoking weed to cope. Then during lockdown it just spiked to smoking an intense amount

A few friends had a similar conversation with me not too long ago. I went to rehab and everything, and have been sober since. It really is crazy how much your life improves if you just let it. About to hit my 6 months sobriety date, which I know isn’t that long, but for me it’s a lifetime.

Good lord, absolute zero self-awareness with this deeply weird man

It’s a fun thing to look back on, now that both LoT and the AV Club are over.

Huh, was the A.V. Club petulantly sniping at Joker a thing? Unlike most of the known universe that liked the movie?

He owns what he did.

“I think the tone of this article is tiresome”

I still love Louis but I don’t care much about his filmmaking career. If the film is well-reviewed, I would consider buying or renting it from his website but I wouldn’t see it in a theater. Hopefully he’ll get back to more stand-up soon. That’s all I want from him as a fan.

This cognitive dissonance with the entertainment media - where they insist that Louis CK remain a pariah but continue to report on every single thing he does in his career - is fascinating.

CK admitted to, and apologized for, his behavior...”

“Twitter is a hellscape that no one should visit”

“these two people being out of each other’s lives has got to be a private, and, for some damn reason, a public, good.”

5. The AV Club will spend a lot of time covering things it claims we'd all be better off ignoring.

Why the random insulting of Hugh Grant? I’m very happy with this casting choice but Hugh Grant is a national treasure and would have been a great Doctor.

It’s just his typical way of fueling engagement in the comments section to get more clicks. It’s easier than praising Ncuti’s work or bothering to investigate it.

“Also, this means we thankfully dodged the bullet of the BBC stupidly hiring another white man for the role, with very stupid rumors insisting back in March that Davies wanted old white man Hugh Grant to be the new star. As for Gatwa’s Doctor, though, he’ll officially take over the TARDIS in 2023.”

It's a shame how the powers that be have gutted this site so badly.
