Great list! I’m definitely putting Hollow Knight on my list (that I share with three friends through email), too.

That was my first though when I saw the “Ridley in Smash” entry. I love Ridley, and Metroid, but Joker is the most exciting addition to Smash ever IMO.

Could you have not brought yourself to play a few Toad Rallys in Super Mario Run? That game is still fantastic. It has no ads or other weird mobile game quirks that try to get you to spend more money, and it will never not be fun.  I know you already spent the $10 on it.

I don’t think so.  Most licensed clothing starts at $30 and goes from there.  Prices for clothes at the Nintendo store are definitely comparable to this.

I think you’ve undersold the “when is it coming out on Switch?” part of the console’s success this year. I mean, that’s kind of a meme, right? Even if the console only had two amazing first-party games at the end of the year, it still had a ton of amazing games, either indies or ports, that felt new and fresh simply

The Pro Controller will be absolutely great for you. It’s not that the GC controller is noticeably better than others, it’s just that it has a very different layout that worked really well for Smash, which made it harder for people to transition away from it. Also, Melee is the favorite game among hardcore fans, as I

The Smash I played most was Brawl, but since no sane gamer would ever continue using the Wiimote/Nunchuck for Smash even if that’s what they learned on, I’ve been using the Pro Controller, which works very well. I’ve always liked A on a Nintendo controller being Jump, and Square on a PS Controller being my primary

Great, I’m glad I could help. FYI myself and my fellow professional musicians who read from an iPad all use FourScore to read and store our scores.

Thanks very much for all the info!

Yeah I wondered how that affected Smash for Wii U.  Did the community feel like the game was well-balanced by the end, or did they wish Nintendo had done more?

This brings up an interesting question. Unlike Melee, this game is patchable, so theoretically, the developers and continue to tweak the characters for years in order to find a more perfect balance. But given the concerns of the esports community, should there be a point where the game no longer gets tweaked and

Thanks for that.  I’m sad my star doesn’t get your comment out of the greys :(

Fine, then games that are 2nd party studios handling first party franchises.

Loved that game. Played all the way through on Switch. I actually kickstarted the full Bloodstained game, so I’m really hoping that comes through.

Wow, this sounds awful and disappointing. I’m having a blast with this game just playing single player (I actually am enjoying World of Light!), but it’s almost kind of shocking that Nintendo would still let this be ok in 2018. On the other hand, maybe it’s because that is what’s going to be different about the next

This is the first year since 2010 that I didn’t buy any 3DS software. If they want current owners who are not children to keep consuming software, they need to release first party games that are not ports and that actually use the 3D effect. At least that’s what will get me to buy more software.

Um if you’re a pianist with poor eyesight who needs to have all your scores with you throughout a day of different gigs, then yes, you might need an iPad Pro.

I disagree that the controls are awful, they just take getting used to. As I’ve said before in other threads on this site, I feel they are very fun, even though they are sluggish, as they have momentum to them, which makes them fun and satisfying when you get the feel for them.

Awesome, thanks!

Joe Danger is super fun.
