A couple notes:
Hopefully the quality of the game will allay this problem for you.
I will assume that at no point in your life have you heard someone say they were upset by something and gone “jeez, that’s a dumb thing to be upset about”. In which case, congratulations on being so very, very noble.
Debates about video game cosmetics is at least as old as hats (TF2) or other costumes (for me, first exemplified in the Soul Calibur games).
You can’t believe it because you’re privileged enough not to have to deal with the actual issues that the people who are made to wear these sorts of uniforms in real life have to deal with, and you’re also not empathetic enough to understand the perspective of another fellow human being, and how such a thing might…
You’re welcome! I hope that my reading was closer to Maddy’s intent.
Why on earth would she call them out when she was hired to host the event?
Or I can tell the difference between incorrect descriptions and sarcasm?
I’ve been putting it off for years now, but I was under the impression it was done like 2 years ago. Guess I should put up or shut up.
Toys R Us always had giant douche customers. I worked at TRU from 1989 to 1994. I think about 1993, we had someone bring in NES games from 1986 to return, they were open. Because it was the return season right after Christmas, they got their way.
Ya know, people might stop thinking that if people would stop saying it. Heck, even The Verge got a PC built.
There was no shortage of horrible people gracing that store. Some really amazing ones though. It balanced out. Great memories of having a pokemon gym challenge where all the employees who liked pokemon trained up a type-specific team on pokemon X and Y and acted as the gym leader on the saturday after ORAS launched.…
I worked in the electronics department of Toys R Us back in the Wii U’s heyday. We had so many angry parents over that damn thing. They wanted to buy wii u games and didn’t believe us that they wouldn’t work on the wii. They wanted wii u exclusives for the wii. They wanted to buy the damn controller and try to use it…
Wii was definitely a solid choice. Fairly certain the name was a big part of what killed the Wii U due to all the confusion it caused (and it was a shitty name regardless).
You know, Microsoft could just argue that the Xbox One X was their 4th console and call the new one the Xbox 5 and just stay on the same naming scheme with Sony moving forward. It would be nice and simple.
The Wii sorta made sense the way they marketed it at the time. Wii as in “we” play together. The two ii’s were people.
Wii at least had the phonetics to sound like “We”, which was great in their commercials and really hit home the local multiplayer aspect.
Come on, what’s confusing about a product line with titles like the Xbox, Xbox One, Xbox One X and Xbox Series X? :D
On one end we have Sony, whose naming scheme is a bit boring, but consistent and easy to follow. On the other you have Nintendo whose names are varied, but at least have some kind of reasoning behind the names that ties to the console’s features (except for Wii and Wii U from what I can tell).
I had never heard of Jachs until I saw a deal listed here on sportcoats/blazers. I got one for $37 and it is wonderful.
