Absolutely. F-Zero GX is incredible, and all the Mario Sports games were best on Gamecube. I particularly loved Tennis and Golf on the Cube.

There are so many great ones from NieR: Automata: [NieR spoilers] ending E, when Pascal flips out and you have to reformat him, when 9S flips out and becomes corrupted, visiting the amusement park for the first time, and a number of great sidequests.

Ugh, my backlog is way too long. Long ago I had abandoned the idea of ever playing through this game. I bought it from the UK and played it on my modded exactly once, and I really liked the combat! But I never went back to it. This article makes me really want to play it again, but I definitely don’t have time if

IOW, the Operation Rainfall games.

That’s a bummer, as the Gamecube was amazing. The Wii and Wii U both had some fantastic games (mainly the Galaxies) but missing out on those consoles is not a huge loss. Hopefully they’ll port Wind Waker HD and/or the Metroid Prime Trilogy to Switch for people like you.

Here’s my list:

I took OP’s point to be “if you’re close enough to your ex for you to wonder if anyone thinks you’re too close, you’re too close”, which is a blanket statement. I’m going to assume I’m correct until OP says otherwise. But congrats on being able to be such good friends with so many of your exes! I’m lucky to have an

Maybe you’re right, but I took imaginaryfriend’s point to be “if you’re close enough to your ex for you or anyone else to wonder if you might be too close, you’re too close”. Until imaginaryfriend corrects me, I’m going to assume I was right.

It was for me as well, until the Switch.

No one had to tell me, I was there. The N64 was the first console I saved up for and bought at launch. It ended up turning me off to video games for a couple years.

Yeah, I know it. The thing that I didn’t mention is that 1998-2002 is the period in my life where I played the fewest number of video games, and hardly played any at all from ‘99 to ‘01, because I became somewhat popular for the first time in my life and then went to college.

I wasn’t counting Virtual Boy, because it doesn’t need to be connected to a TV and is basically a portable console. I’m embarrassed to admit though that I don’t know what Sufami Turbo is.

Yeah, I suppose you’re right about the Gamecube not being old enough to be so retro-hip yet. But for my money, the Gamecube iterations of all the games you mentioned are superior. Double Dash>>>Kart 64, Melee>>>>>Smash 1, and yes, Agent Under Fire>Goldeneye for multiplayer (not single player though). I never cared

I LOVE Blast Corps so much! I bought an Xbone on Black Friday this year, and I played it again in Rare Replay for the first time since the 90s, and was very excited to find that it is still incredibly fun. I’d kickstart the shit out of a remake.

I could not take Squall after Cloud. I don’t care what anyone says, moody, disillusioned teenagers do not make for compelling characters. I was also a depressed teenager when this game came out, and I had absolutely no interest in playing a character with whom I had so much in common.

In the days surrounding Christmas, I received FFXII The Zodiac Age, Steamworld Dig 2, Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Forza Horizon 3, and Doom on Switch. So I’m going to try to play all of those games this weekend. Also Stardew Valley.

Totally weird. The N64 is the worst Nintendo home console IMO. Worst controller and worst library by far, Super Mario 64 and Blast Corps notwithstanding.

Me too!

Cuphead is fantastic. I bought an Xbone last month as well, and though I have put some time into Rare Replay and Sunset Overdrive, the vast majority of my time playing the console has been with Cuphead.

100% wrong. My ex-fiancée is still my best friend and roommate, and our wedding was supposed to be in September of 2013.
