If something is in the Olympics, that means the world has accepted it as a “sport”, and whether or not you think that is justified, you would be wrong to disagree. The Olympics are the most prestegious sporting competition in history. That is their whole raison d’être. Anything included is a sport by definition.

I really enjoy when It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia revisits their classic episodes. I love “The Gang Recycles Their Trash”, and “Gun Fever: Still Too Hot”, “Chardee MacDennis 2: Electric Boogaloo” and “The Gang Spies Like US” are all good to great.

I agree with that, yes. Very nice art direction in that strip.

Nope, not the only one. And I don’t want to get into an argument about what makes comedy good on this website, but I’d respond to some of the other commenters who replied to you that the issue here is not that your sense of humor isn’t aligned with the target audience of these strips, but that the jokes are just

I disagree completely. I often don’t understand the strip, but when I do, it is never funny. Today I understood the joke because I read the piece from a few days ago about brothels in FFXIV, and I still did not find it funny. The jokes require too much set up for punchlines that don’t pack much punch and don’t make

Like Riley, I will be actively trying to not play Stardew Valley all weekend, so hopefully I will get in some Mario Odyssey and Rocket League as well. I really hope to go back to Horizon Zero Dawn before the end of the year, but this is not that weekend. I have over 300 Power Moons and I haven’t played in a week, so

Holy shit playing your brand new Switch for the first time by binging on Breath of the Wild in a snowed-in cabin in the mountains over Thanksgiving sounds like heaven.

Why?

Bullshit. I never heard Pam say “let’s all pretend Dwight was never born”, which, of course, is one of the many horrible things Leslie said about Jerry. And Dwight deserved everything he got from Jim and Pam way more than Jerry ever did.

Shit that’s dangerous. Incredibly impressive, but also foolhardy. This is not a world record that people should be eager to try to beat.

Except that quote was about EA Sports titles. I think it makes perfect sense to use that model for games that are already released annually with little difference from one to the next.

Wow I might play that game all over again if it were on Switch. I always regretted cheating on Triss with Yennifer.

What do you not understand about Compete being a collaborative blog from Kotaku and Deadspin?

More than that. Graphics were the crux of the battle between Nintendo and Sega in the early 90s, at least in the marketing. Remember Blast Processing?

Trends aren’t linear until they hit a ceiling. They are curves, and this one will level off eventually (I think it already has to a degree). No matter how clever corporations are, they will not continue to do things that piss of large segments of their consumers. Someone will go too far, and their game won’t sell

I’m not concerned. I’ve yet to buy a single player-dominant video game from any of these large publishers that felt incomplete and that too much content was locked behind additional paywalls. I’m sure there will be serious backlash that alters publisher behavior if there is a particularly egregious case of that

I LOL’d way too hard at this.

Yep, I think I’m done with PS+. I’ll probably buy Resogun and Velocity 2X, along with Rocket League on the Switch. But I haven’t played a new PS+ game for more than a few minutes in at least a year.

I hate it when studios decide a genre is dead because their own game didn’t do well. They are essentially blaming consumers for their own failure.

Whatever, I love Super Mario Run. Best mobile game I’ve ever played, and I’ve played scores of them.
